Sybarite: Oh, those Winklevii.

That's exactly what I thought when I read 'Winklevosses'. Winklevii does seem to be the appropriate pluralization.

This.

My aunt has a hard enough time understanding how to use a smartphone. How can we expect an older generation to understand social networking?

When the Supreme Court denies them who will they go crying to? The Avengers? Perhaps they'll fly to Oa and get the Green Lantern Corp to correct this titanic injustice they've suffered.

Well, they're rich, so it's not like when poor people ask.

Yeah, they're going to be crying in their $65 million beers tonight.

/I bet they use that "...and there's two of me" line in real life, now. I would.
//Also, the picture in TFA seems to suggest that they attended the movie premiere. Interesting choice! I guess I'd support the movie that made me look like a snobby douche if it made my worst enemy look like a flaming psycho asshole with a very small penis.

Wow, I knew our office culture was getting rather homogenous, but they're cloning now? I guess that takes all the uncertainty out of churning out generic business-school frat bros..

The King's Speech was fantastic, and Colin Firth very much deserved the Best Actor Oscar, but The Social Network was the best film of the year.

Jesus Christ with people and their "ideas"....

Execution is everything. Ideas are worthless without it and nearly worthless next to it.

What a couple of douche bags. Almost as douchey as Mark Zuckerberg.

They do tend to run in packs.

Wow, these guys look like even bigger douches than they portrayed them as in the movie.

First thing I thought too.

Except I would rather have a beer with the twins.

/They look like they are different ages.

That NY wood pellet guy is still looking for 50% of Facebook. And he has some fancy lawyers working on it now. Google "Paul Ceglia" for updates.

Lord Dimwit: but The Social Network was the best film of the year.

Sure, I liked it too. But my point was, the Winklevosseseseses are very near the top of the list of people who might hate it, and not want to grace its premiere with their smiling presences.

Oh, I know. I was digressing. They also seem like attention whores though, and even negative attention is attention.

They have inspired a new collective noun. A group of douchebags shall now be referred to as a Winklevoss of douchebags.

Here's what I read:

Two well-heeled, silver spooned, ivy league, high achieving, millionaire, handsome young men want to posterity to remember them as the whiniest sissies ever.

Is that about right?

Reflecting upon The Social Network, I can only imagine Sorkin's memoirs,

... after my first TV show failure where I projected myself as a writer upon two sports anchors, I tried my hand with politics and had an even bigger group upon whom I projected facets of my persona. When I was caught for possession, I was sentenced to writing a show about a pair of writers with addiction problems, emotional and drug related. When all that failed, I was offered scraps by friends to write about some group of two-bit Harvard snots. It was only once I made one little douche seem like the brilliant and misunderstood guy I was in college that people began to take notice of my genius....

I read this as Wrinklebook and thought it was the proposed Facebook only for people over 80.

Sybarite: Oh, those Winklevii.

It's shiat like that that makes me love Aaron Sorkin. I honestly think that's the best line in the movie.

2011-05-18 06:06:13 AM
Wow, wished I gave a sh*t.

2011-05-18 06:14:27 AM
So... $65 million isn't enough?

How many millions does one person need throughout their lifetime?
