I can beat that. In fact I think I may have beat that although I wasn't driving at the time.

2003-08-15 06:36:36 PM
Holy shiat!!! How the fark is she still alive???

2003-08-15 10:23:26 PM
at first i thought it was architecture school that drove (no pun)her to it, but then i read she was a landscape architect, and realized she just had a drinking problem. stupid lazy landscape architects.

A South Australian man recorded a blood-alcohol level of 0.497 when he was breath-tested in that state's southeast in 1998.

Now THAT is impressive. I've never heard of a guy still conscious at .5 before.

Drunkest woman blows 401!

It's all in the punctuation.

2003-08-16 01:01:35 AM
Mom?

2003-08-16 01:02:56 AM
Bet that makes for one hell of a hangover.

2003-08-16 01:03:06 AM
Is this in the whole world, whole non-third-world world, or just in Australia? The headline is misleading.

2003-08-16 01:03:49 AM
*tips hat to TheOther for making me laugh*

2003-08-16 01:04:34 AM
Damn. Just damn. I'm a little drunk right now, but I feel like an utter failure compared to her.
Bet she'll be hung over for all 200 hours of community cervice, though...

2003-08-16 01:05:30 AM
4 bottles of vanilla. Without throwing up from the taste. That woman has one tough stomach.

2003-08-16 01:08:32 AM
Four bottles of vanilla? Now that's really using the ole bean.

2003-08-16 01:09:04 AM
Figures this would happen in Australia.

2003-08-16 01:10:42 AM
Hahaha good one Young_fart

2003-08-16 01:10:50 AM
.401 BAC definately deserves the tag

2003-08-16 01:10:53 AM
Scary? I think not. ? Hell yeah.

2003-08-16 01:11:39 AM
I see your schwartz is as big as mine

This woman guzzled down almost half a quart of vanilla extract.

Farkers, always remember: vanilla is to be used for good things, like cookies, ice cream and pie.

Don't become a vanilla-slurping bum, passed out by the side of the road; drink whiskey and run into stuff.

DasMobblet - Evil will always triumph; because good is dumb.

2003-08-16 01:17:41 AM
wow, I really can't type, must be all those shots of vanilla extract.

2003-08-16 01:18:22 AM
That article is bullshiat. Breath tests are not accurate. A blood test on the other hand is accurate.

2003-08-16 01:21:00 AM
I'd hit it.

2003-08-16 01:21:11 AM
"O'Shea, 37, was seen driving on the wrong side of the road at night without lights on Queensland's Gold Coast on February 27 this year."

No, no...that's just the side of the road that they drive on there!

2003-08-16 01:21:29 AM
imcguyver - they are actually quite acurate. Believe me, the difference was only a few .0001s when I got busted.

2003-08-16 01:26:26 AM
Shouldnt this be a dumbass tag?

2003-08-16 01:28:43 AM
anybody willing to donate a liver and set of kidneys to the cause?

2003-08-16 01:29:19 AM
Properly maintained breath-a-lyzers are accurate with a couple caveats:

1. they need to have been calibrated within the last few weeks.

2. They will not give accurate results with diabetics or people on low-carb diets. Ketones will show up as alcohol. If you're in heavy ketosis, you can blow a legally drunk reading while being stone-cold sober.

Other than that, they're nearly as accurate as blood tests and will always stand up in court if both of the above conditions are met.

2003-08-16 01:29:33 AM
I've always heard that you should never do a breath test on the side of the road, even if you're arrested. Anyone else heard something similar?

2003-08-16 01:29:50 AM
Why isn't this woman going to jail? Please, please tell me why this woman is not going to jail.

2003-08-16 01:30:50 AM
She should have used the "I'm not drunk --- I ATE food with lots of alcohol cooked into it" defense like the guy with his beer/tequila burritos.

in her case, i guess, she should claim she drank about a zillion vanilla milkshakes?

2003-08-16 01:30:51 AM
steph - Not in Pennsylvania, you automatically lose your license.

2003-08-16 01:31:45 AM
"vanilla-slurping bum", I think I may have crapped my pants. Good stuff Homeless_need_help.

Seriously, I would have blow a .420!!111 har ha halol LOL11

er..just kidding.

Medical experts believe the amount of alcohol found in Samantha Leigh O'Shea's blood could have killed a less experienced drinker.

Where do I sign up for the challenge?

2003-08-16 01:33:41 AM

"Did somebody say 'vanilla-slurpin bum'...?"

2003-08-16 01:33:45 AM
Hell, I know architecture students who'd probably blow that.

2003-08-16 01:34:15 AM
Remember those days of yore? Acid and booze mix like air and your lungs. I can drink so much tripin balls.....

2003-08-16 01:36:29 AM
kurtu5

Too old for that shiat now.

Coke and booze, on the other hand......

2003-08-16 01:38:10 AM
Alcohol and acid are an evil mix. The acid won't let you pass out if you've had to much to drink. Bad bad bad.

2003-08-16 01:38:37 AM
Bill_Wick's_Friend I hope that's Coke and booze, not coke and booze...

2003-08-16 01:40:29 AM
Bill_Wick's_Friend But i'm not, then again, i did give up acid and decided to stick with the bud and Beer.

2003-08-16 01:42:36 AM
Coke (tm) ruins a good rum or a nice whiskey.
Coke (no tm), otoh, is alcohol/party enhancement.

(disclaimer: the above farker is experienced with drugs and alcohol and is aware of his own financial, mental and physical limits. this post should not be interpreted as an endorsement of illegal drugs or combining drugs with alcohol. look both ways before crossing the street and whatever you do ...do not taunt happy fun ball. OK?)

"200 hours of community service, three years probation and five years without a licence". How about five years with a license but in jail?

I agree with Rowlf. Drowning yourself in vanilla extract, then recklessly running half a ton of steel and glass (or whatever the fark she was driving) down public streets - she might as well be shooting randomly into the street.

2003-08-16 01:44:31 AM
Whenever I hear/see someone drinking Crown and Coke I want to slap them.

Even with crappy rum or whiskey I always drink it neat or with ice (depending upon mood, brand, or other factors)...but I can understand using a mixer with a cheap brand if you can't handle hard alcohol.

Steph--
In most states when you sign your drivers license you are giving implied consent to breath test and if you refuse, it is off to jail with you.

Skywalker1122 I'll give him a metal. Here's a hint, it has an atomic number of 82 and a symbol of PB.

Sidi : from PJ O'Rourke's Alphabet for Schoolboys:
"B is for Beer. It makes you act lewd
And stupid and loud. It's a ruinous fluid
For People with taste, for people who think.
Beer is not nice. It's a bad thing to drink.
The consumption of beer is low-class and risky.
Stick to gin,vodka,cocaine and whiskey."

Pb. Held shift too long.

Nah, she should just claim she has a yeast infection.
