So I'm in Ann Arbor, Michigan, at the University of Michigan Art Museum, working--more or less--and let me tell you....this definitely makes interesting an otherwise boring day.

On the other hand...I'd really liked it if I got home and found that my refridgerator, computer, phone, etc still worked....

Going on vacation to Chicago tomorrow....ain't that timing grand....
2003-08-14 05:12:09 PM

2003-08-14 05:12:49 PM
Sucks to be the people in the subway, provided they keep the doors closed they'll be fine until they run out of oxygen...

on a side note, I'm about 20 miles from Seabrook Nuclear Power Station in NH... gotta love being close to the tap, if I lose power then we're *REALLY* in trouble
2003-08-14 05:13:07 PM
Grandma's on the phone in NJ - says people are stuck on the rides at Six Flags Great Adventure.

I blame myself.

I just drove back to Toledo from Kentucky, walked in the door, turned on the AC and 30 seconds later the power went out.

/if only I had stayed another day in Kentucky......
2003-08-14 05:15:43 PM
Angusmeats: A bunch of major cities (and one state) simultaneously lose power...doesn't look like a terrorist attack to me, Averagejoe, who doesn't know that they all use one power grid.
2003-08-14 05:15:57 PM
Hope they don't delete this thread instead of the other one... something odd about the article about ny losing power being reported first by the bbc... =)
