That was like 3 days ago... (May 7). A bit slow on the upchuck, aren't we, Fark?

Kar, it was a featured story on Google today.

Gunter probably got a look at Brigitte with her top off on May 6...

2011-05-10 10:30:21 AM
So it took him over 40 years to come down?

He must have had the good stuff.

2011-05-10 10:30:55 AM
He was diagnosed with a debilitating illness and decided to go out on his own terms - see Hemingway, Earnest and Thompson, Hunter S.

2011-05-10 10:31:21 AM
So he had alzheimer's and ended it while he still could?

Hmmm... usually, I disapprove of suicide, but given the choice, his decision seems reasonable.

I don't like his methods, though. Leaving a mess like that is impolite.

So, basically, he was a old, male Paris Hilton?

Too easy.... "like his SS officer father" ... there has to be a conspiracy here...... he knew secrets.... dark secrets about the SS.... there, I've started it.

He probably found out that his Rouchefoucauld is only worth 50 bucks in Philly.

/really stretching for a connection here

I would have married Brigitte Bardot without betting...in the 1960's.

"As Gunther Sachs shoots himself (like his SS officer father)"

I don't see the relevancy of this, other than to point out that this guy's dad was an SS and maybe make us feel less empathic towards this guy's suicide.

If I am ever diagnosed with Alzheimer's, I'll do the same thing. I've worked in a nursing home and I know from experience that there are things worse than death. Probably not with the gun though. Too messy.

I'm glad the SOB is dead. He stole my woman, and by the time he turned her loose, I was married.
There were times, in the early 60s, when Brigitte and I were in the same hemisphere.

/ah, what might have been

I agree, at that age, and incurable diagnosis, he really didn't have anything to lose. I also agree, you should be considerate and either leave nothing behind(bomb) or do it at the police station and make them clean up after you.
