magusdevil: mo·ment/ˈmōmənt/Noun
1. A very brief period of time.
2. An exact point in time

It's like they are really trying to pigeonhole Obama so that they can label him. They hate the fact that Obama is a muti-dimensional forward thinker and that it doesn't play into their 24 circus. I see someone put up Mathews Bush-gushing, that turd should have been flushed long ago. But I guess he's that 'liberal media' I hear so much about.

What I hear when I overhear a cable news program:

well it's a god-given fact
that you can't go back
no you can't go back

it's a god-given law that
you're gonna lose your ma
yes you're gonna lose your ma

it's a god-given fact
you gotta buy 'em by the sack
gotta buy 'em by the sack

it's a god-given law that
you're gonna get small
yes you're gonna get small

may be just another rap
but you're running out of sap
yes you're running out of sap

well you better take that rap
dying under daddy's cap
dying under daddy's cap

it's at the top of the list that
you can't get pissed
no you can't get pissed

it's rule #1
living right isn't fun
living right isn't fun

time-tested and true
you gotta pooty poo-poo
gotta pooty poo-poo

shrivel up!

Pappas: Yeah, that was hilarious. I can't stomach either of them, especially Schultz.

The other day I tuned to an online talk station, but had the volume down low.

It sounded like Limbaugh, so I went to change it...and notice it was Ed Schultz.

That pretty much did it for me.

Thom Hartmann deserves a show - his deconstruction of Ayn Rand a couple weeks ago was epic.

Once.

What about Hannity, O'Reilly, Beck and Limbaugh. The left pundits have nothing on the right wing nut jobs.

Jake Havechek: Damn you have a one track mind. Still a little weepy because your hero and role model Osama is dead?

Methinks thou dost protest too much. You've singled out the one contrary POV in the thread while ignoring those on the left who have taken this moment to some how lambaste the right, and claim he's the only one with a one track mind. Then of course the complete fabrication of history claiming that Phil's hero was Osama when it was the left in this country that was sticking up for the guy and his objectives.

Nobody is weepy, though it is funny that the party of 'OMG They're murdering innocent brown people, the thugs' has suddenly turned into the party of 'BOOM - Headshot! WOOT!'

Consistency and integrity - you have none. Stewart may lean left, but he *does* have both consistency and integrity.

Why do people consider Matthews a leftist? He just likes the game, doesn't matter the issues. This is the same guy who gushed about Giuliani's manliness in 2008.

Whenever I read _Time_ or _Newsweek_ or such magazines watch any cable news program, I wash my hands afterward. But how to wash off the small but odious stain such reading viewing leaves on the mind?

Updated from Cactus Ed.

He's a political creature sure, but he's always been a Democratic operative and never a Republican one. Often it's impossible for him to contain his bias which is why he's called a 'leftist' even though he's a Political Creature first and Democrat second.

How so, even as a 'Righty' I enjoy TDS and laugh often, not to mention I feel that Stewart gives a fair shake to those he interviews that are opposite him on the political spectrum (As evidenced by his interview with the Historian Barton). Why do you think he *doesn't* have integrity or consistency?

Ed Schultz' show is the "Fox & Friends" of MSNBC. Thoroughly unwatchable.

Matthews is alright. He can go over the top on things. Usually once a show.

2011-05-06 11:19:11 AM

Nina_Hartley's_Ass: Matthews and probably Schultz will play this on their shows today with a promise to discontinue use of the phrase.

maybe. Unfortunately no one will ever know ;)

2011-05-06 11:19:12 AM
I like Mathews. I don't know why... I just kind of do. Shultz is an ass who gives Faux News fans a perfect target for but.. But... MSNBC!!! He needs to go yesterday.

2011-05-06 11:19:40 AM
It's not a Matrix-like media control grid that Obama operates personally like the right wingers think it is.

John Carpenter got better what life in America is like as a paranoiac thriller. (new window)

Who watches Ed, anyway? On the east coast local news is on, and also Family Guy on the WB affiliate, New Adventures of Old Christine is also on, TBS has Seinfeld reruns and plenty of other stuff that won't inspire you to murder when that idiot Shultz starts bloviating.

Dare I say it? Can this thread be a defining moment for FARK?

Certainly, I think it's clearly a defining moment for FARK.

That would have probably been the last "isolated incident" one of them had a hand in.

Bacontastesgood: Meh, Matthews was just asking a rhetorical question. He's a loudmouth but he's one of the less retarded ones.

Schultz is a vortex of stupid and lame blended on puree.

In Ed's defense (I'd rather watch Maddow), at one point he implied there was a list of defining moments. Which could be true. But to have so many of them in the first two years in office? That's a bit much.

/hey I'm only asking questions here

Because he calls retarded shiat what it is. And over the last few years, most of the retarded shiat has been coming from the mouths of the right. But if a good idea came from the right, and some liberal came on to oppose it with weaksauce talking points, he'd skewer them, too.

And to further defend him, not that he actually deserves it, but...

For quite a few of them, he said it was a "defining moment" for people and things other than the President. It was a "defining moment" for progressives, for the healthcare reform bill, etc.

But yes, point taken. The phrase "defining moment" has been used way too damn much. It's lazy journalism / punditry.

Years back I used to listen to Ed Schultz. I had some respect for the guy. I was totally surprised when I saw him on The Daily Show. I didn't know what he had become. He seemed reasonable back in the day. Now he is just another blowhard talkshow arse who doesn't let people talk.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Ed a right wing pundit back when he first started?

Subby is a farking moron. Matthew's first said that it was the defining moment of Obama's first term and later asked if it would be the defining moment of his presidency. Unless you're assuming that Obama will be a one term president, Matthew's comments made perfect sense.

I stopped taking Schultz seriously when he said if HCR wasn't passed Obama would be a one-termer.

Yeah Ed because the 2012 Republican Field is really making Obama shake in his boots.

To think MSNBC dumped David Shuster for this moron.

I've had the same experience. As a fan of both KO and Rachel, I expect better than a bunch of needlessly inflammatory Democratic derp from MSNBC. Even Starbucks presents "Morning Joe", a production of Starbucks is better, and I hate Joe Scarborough.

I'm not familiar with Thom Hartmann.

Maybe that was it. Or was it Dan Abrams?

Shiat, for such a "liberal" network, MSNBC sure has had a lot of milquetoast in its lineup. Don't even get me started on their weekend "fark you, news, we got true crime docu'mentries to show" policy.

He has a syndicated radio program, and he's on Sirius Left. They've changed the schedule, so I'm not sure.

www.thomhartmann.com has links to all stations that carry his show, along with the scheduled times.

He even has people on whom he disagrees with. Shocking, I know.

He has fun, too - in the same broadcast as the Ayn Rand takedown he ridiculed Trump's hair.

Here's the MP3 (new window) if you want to check it out.
