LOL@ all you retards actually believing he's not releasing it because "it might inflame hatred in the middle east". Like invading Pakistan's sovereignty, murdering their hero, and improperly disposing of his body wouldn't piss them off enough.

I believe he's dead, but not releasing any evidence at all gives me pause, and if it gives me pause (someone who believes he's dead even after all this bullshiatery) then you KNOW that terrorists won't believe he's dead for a farking second, and that the US is just trying to flush him out of hiding.

Bad move by Obama, he has nothing to lose from releasing the pictures, and a shiat load to lose by not releasing them. Here's hoping they get "leaked".

The Guardian had an interesting report on it:

" This is important generally - but particularly vital for Muslims around the world."

Good, those photos do not need to be released. I am tired of this cheering section shiat when it comes to Osama's death. I would like to think that we as Americans are better than cheering for the death of a human being, and we are definitely better than parading out a body or photos.

This is something that our country had to do, and I am comfortable with that. What we don't need to do is cheer enemy deaths. We should accept what needs to be done and act with dignity and decorum.

2011-05-04 03:57:20 PM

micah1701: I actually just killed bigfoot last night. but I dump his body in the ocean and you can't see the pictures.

I think you're making the right decision, there are more bigfoots out there and we have to be sensitive to them.

ultraholland: unlikely: I think 3Horn is still the only farker who's allowed to sign his own posts

don't try to white knight because I'm over here name-calling

Ha ha, you got trolled by a trolly troll troll in a thread about Obama trolling the trolls.

So very meta.

nekom: thisone: when hair boy releases the real tax returns?

Isn't that required to run for President as part of the financial disclosure? Not that he's seriously going to run for President anyway just seems to me there's no way of NOT releasing that.

I don't think it's required but it's just done by custom, not releasing them would open Trump to some ridicule.

If unemployment edges back up to 10% the number of people who don't believe Osama died will increase to 40%. If unemployment hits 7% the number is 20%.

If pics are ultimately released, halve those numbers. The hope is that a deather will say something really stupid.

The Islamic wackos will be angry no matter what, their feelings are not important to me.

styckx: I love the fact they didn't hesitate to troll the conspiracy theorists while they were at it.

Taking into consideration the events of the past week, I must ask:

President Obama. Great Troll, or Greatest Troll?

2011-05-04 03:58:46 PM
Psst... CIA...

EIP

2011-05-04 03:59:04 PM
The reason they were thinking of releasing it was to appease conspiracy theorists? Well, that's stupid. This is the right call. Wouldn't that violate the Geneva Conventions anyway? Though I still support my original idea of Obama riding around DC in a chariot dragging the body behind.

2011-05-04 03:59:19 PM
I'm perfectly fine with the decision. Don't need them re-purposed for propaganda.

No, I don't think they are. I think they do it as a measure of good faith. Kind of like releasing birth certificates.

2011-05-04 03:59:24 PM

Panty Sniffer: Anyone else think that it will be "leaked" and Obama claim that he was just respecting the dead while his minions are putting it on the internet?

*Raises hand

2011-05-04 03:59:32 PM

Mr. Coffee Nerves: Said Obama: "The risks of release outweigh the benefits. Conspiracy theorists around the world will just claim the photos are doctored anyway, and there is a real risk that releasing the photos will only serve to inflame public opinion in the Middle East."

He added: "Imagine how the American people would react if Al Qaida killed one of our troops or military leaders, and put photos of the body on the internet. Osama bin Laden is not a trophy -- he is dead and let's now focus on continuing the fight until Al Qaida has been eliminated."

Jesus Christ it's nice to have a sane person in office.

AGREED

2011-05-04 03:59:48 PM
Yeah, why not release it...right alongside photos of the remains of people that jumped from the towers...you know? For balance...

Sweet sunny Jesus, anyone with an appetite to view this photo is probably in need of some therapy...

I know, insert "Welcome to fark'" photo here ;)

What do Dale Earnhardt and Pink Floyd have in common?

Trackball: He obviously didn't learn anything from the birth certificate episode.

He WAITS over two years to release his certificate and then somehow makes it out to be everyone else's problem.

So, I guess three years from now after people rightfully ask to see the picture he will finally put it out there and do the same thing.

And there are delusional people out there that think he has a second term locked up just because of this latest event.

You could probably say that about anything that Bush did in his first term.

/And look how that turned out!
//Man, the anti-President trolls are hungry.

FlashHarry:
plus, releasing them could enflame the ME. remember how they reacted to a cartoon?

I actually don't believe that the pics would make his supporters hate us anymore than they already do. On the other hand I see no reason to release them. If you don't believe he is dead seeing a picture is not going to change your mind. Plus think of how we can fark with their minds going forward.
Ring ring "Hello?"
"yeah Mohammad, this is me Osama. Sorry, bad connection. No I'm not dead, I escaped. Listen I want you to kill Zawahiri, he's the traitor that turned me in..."

2011-05-04 04:00:10 PM
I think he is just upset that his hero is dead.

Bunz: "Obama did nothing at all it was the military".

This is my favorite facebook meme today. It's a brilliantly-designed piece of illogic. If leaders don't deserve to share credit for things their subordinates do, then Bin Laden wasn't the 9/11 guy, either.

I wonder if there's a jihadi chatroom somewhere full of posts like "Let's be clear on this: OSAMA did NOT destroy the twin towers. Our brave Al Qaeda foot soldiers, who just a few weeks ago Osama was debating strapping a bomb to and sending to their deaths, did. Osama just happened to be the one in charge when our great plans finally bore fruit. This is NOT an Osama victory!! PLZ REPOST IF YOU AGREE!!!" dated 9/12/01.

Obama is right. The herpa-derps will not believe even with a picture so why not wind them up and let them out themselves as nutters?

Trump-bait maybe.

2011-05-04 04:00:38 PM
Yeah but will he release the death certificate?

2011-05-04 04:00:38 PM
I really don't care if the photo is shown, that biatch is dead.
I just wish the press had some new photos of OBL, I'm sick of seeing photos of that POS with that satisfied grin on his farking face...

Palin just said Obama is "PUSSYFOOTIN". Like she would know.

2011-05-04 04:00:41 PM
I don't need to see the pics, although I would look at them.

But I would kill to see the video of the Seal team confronting Osama.

2011-05-04 04:01:21 PM
Good.
My biggest worry was he was gonna bend and let them go, and we'd have to worry about Afghanistan getting 500x worse.

I don't lionize the troops as gods among men, but we don't have to make their job -harder-.

Rashnu: The reason they were thinking of releasing it was to appease conspiracy theorists? Well, that's stupid. This is the right call. Wouldn't that violate the Geneva Conventions anyway? Though I still support my original idea of Obama riding around DC in a chariot dragging the body behind.

Releasing it as proof that he's dead, because currently there is no farking proof at all that he's dead. (Before you start, I believe he's dead).

It's not just for the conspiracy theorists, its so the terrorists know their farking leader is dead. Its for the world to know that we actually farking killed him. It's for PROOF.

Release a photo of his body being washed, so Muslims know we actually respected his death like Obama says.

I mean, I'm an American, and I believe all this shiat, but without proof i'd say a majority of the world won't.

2011-05-04 04:01:32 PM
I'm fine with this. It should provide us with conspiracy theory lulz for years to come.

Also, it'll provide plenty of ammo for this sort of thing...

nekom: Litterbox: nekom: Only thing is "Imagine how the American people would react if Al Qaeda killed one of our troops or military leaders, and put photos of the body on the internet,"

Uh hey cheif, they have.

Yeah and as I recall it inflamed the shiat out of us. And we are rational...can you imagine what this would do to the Radical Islamists? Hell a cartoon sent them over the edge a while back.

True. It may turn out to be the right decision, though the morbid curiosity in me really wants to see the pics.

That's pretty much how I feel. I'd still like to see him, but overall, not releasing them is the correct choice.

2011-05-04 04:02:03 PM
I think this is a good move. His explanation was good as well.

I mean really, what is the point of seeing someone with a a partial skull blow out since the bullet went above his eye?

Good call.

If the Deathers' conspiracy theories gain wider acceptance (like the birther thing did), a photo can always "accidentally" leak down the road.

IMHO, the desire to not take trophies is a laudable one, but since people are going to take fake photos seriously anyway (e.g. the fake photo from yesterday that got the classic "I can tell from the pixels" meme onto CNN), it seems to me the argument that it would be a "national security risk" is a moot one.

LOL at all you retards thinking the only reason to release it is to stop a "deathers conspiracy" instead of the fact that the world, including the remaining al-qaida, needs proof of his death.

I mean, after all the goodwill America has given around the world, they will just believe that after 10 years we caught one person and disposed of his body hours later and didn't release any evidence of that fact, right?
