The only thing I noticed on the reverse play through was the Wii control symbols at the bottom. Because stupid balancing minigames are what really sells action/adventure games.

Typical, hey all of our cartoon-y games do historically worse than our games which go for more grit and realism. Lets be lazy asses and make more games with cell-shaders. Zelda, a new type of shovel-ware, now with less artistic production value than a Link to the Past.

And you gotta love how they tell people there's some coherent story line going on between all the games, it's worse off than Lost, what a mess of BS.

Game-play formula still rocks, and I guess that's what matters. . . to a point. I mean, really, without story, you could just go back and replay twilight, Zelda ocarina of time, or even A link to the past or last but not least The Legend of Zelda, and accomplish the same exact damn thing.

Used to love this franchise, it's gone stale for me.

*fist bump* I did as well, after a few ruined controllers (I had anger issues as a child) and without a game genie. But... how then have you NOT played a link to the past?

Honestly, I viewed Zelda kinda the opposite of how everyone else did. I played the original and wasn't really into it. I played the second one and got the "Holy shiat this is so different it is awesome!" feeling. Loved it beat it. It is still on my beat once a year list, too. Then I saw the preview for Link to the Past and and thought "Oh, they went back to original style. I guess I'll just move on." Different tastes I guess.

No, really. In every Zelda game from Gamecube version of Twilight Princess all the way back to the very first one, Link was a lefty - because the creator of the series, Shigeru Miyamoto, was himself a lefty. But since the Wii version of TP (which was a port of the Gamecube version) used a motion-control setup, and since something like 90% of the population is right-handed, they flipped the game from left to right for the Wii version.

So Ocarina of Time is not a real Zelda game because it is so different from A Link to the Past? You are trying to look at Zelda II from today's perspective. It seems odd now but back then it was the sequel to The Legend of Zelda, that's why it was called The Legend of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. If they had continued with the gameplay developed in Zelda II, the the original would have been out of place. My point is this; Zelda II is every bit as much a Zelda game as The Wind Waker is. Tons of people hated the graphics but it was still made my Nintendo. It was still Shigeru Miyamoto's vision for the game. It's the same thing with Zelda II. Whether you like it or not, it is a Zelda game. Now if you want to talk about shiatty licensed games, go to the CD-I versions.
