ILikeRealPencils: Purdue_Pete: Ballsy call to send in the Seals without Pakistan Government knowing. Could have been shot down on the way in. Everything about this was perfect. Nice work Obama. Still not a huge fan (i.e. MANY domestic issues, debt, what will Obama say about HAMAS, when do troops come home now, etc?) but the President did America proud in his leadership on this one...

So it is possible to send at least two helicopters of full of US troops over a couple hundred miles of Pakistan, to within 30 miles or so of the capitol city w/o them noticing?

Methinks they knew but want it kept secret to avoid public unrest against a failing government... I wonder what we promised them?

It's also worth noting the article specifically mentions no Americans were killed in the assault. Maybe the Pakistani government had a hand in it. Either way, it's not in the U.S. or Pakistani interest to reveal it if they did.

Who's going to detect them? It's not like Pakistan has some equivalent of NORAD. The western frontier of Pakistan is generally lawless and without formal government. The Afghanistan/Pakistan border makes the US/Mexico border look like the Berlin Wall, and it's a generally small country that you can get in and out of quickly.

it really wouldn't surprise me if he was dead years ago, obama is coming up for reelection and this is the catalyst that could push him back into the white house oh well, I really do not like that socialist pos.

ferretman: Didn't President Obama commit an act of war against Pakistan by flying troops in from Afghanistan, crossing over into Pakistan without informing the Pakistan Government? Does this mean that Obama believes he can invade anyone to "get his man"?!?

I love the fact that dems/libs now approve of violating another country's sovereignty when it serves their best interests.

We are the super power, all other nations are but pawns

:P

Also, the only people dead are internationally hunted terrorists and their brood. So pakistan isn't likely to cry about it too loudly.

I only regret that I had but one gaming system to practice on. None of the First Wii CoD Black Ops team were called up for this operation. MBrady: John Paul Jones: So while Real Americanstm were screaming about birth certificates and calling Obama a traitor and every name under the sun, he was busy orchestrating the demise of OBL.

So who's a "traitor" and a "true patriot" now?

HE was orchestrating the whole thing? RLY? Obviously you didn't RTFA.

No, sloopy, even though you want to kiss hopey's ass before he wipes himself, he did not "orchestrate" the whole thing.

You know what he did?

He approved it. That's it. He said, "yes" Sorta like that "girl" you met on WoW - but not in real life.

So, get a hold of your little tiny penis, go outside and play in traffic, while the adults talk.

InmanRoshi: It's funny. All reports out of Afghanistan and Pakistan are that the populace is generally subdued and largely appreciative in reaction to the news. Meanwhile, the American right has gone flinging feces at the walls insane in reaction to the news.

Not all of us. Some of us haven't taken our eye off the prize for these nearly past 10 years. I couldn't care less that he was finally brought to justice on Obama's watch. In fact, I think it's somehow fitting, especially since the current Secretary of State's husband let him walk after the first attempt on the WTC.

In fact, if Obama actually does something positive for the economy, I might just vote for him in 2012.

I guess all the people who are saying Obama had nothing to do with this also agree that Obama had nothing to do with sending troops to Libya. I'm sure I won't see any of you partisan hacks attacking him for anything related to the military. Because after all, it has nothing to do with Obama, he has no control over any of this. The blame lies with the troops. I guess the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan just aren't fighting hard enough, otherwise they would be home by now. You can't blame any of that on the president because he isn't in charge of such things and has no control over it. Maybe the other soldiers in the middle east should learn some lessons from their brethren who took out Bin Laden and start fighting like they mean it.

Cat Food Sandwiches: This killing made possible by waterboarding. God bless America!

Wait. Let me get this argument straight. Reports are out that this courier was identified four years ago, that would be 2007. And yet, these guys who were captured in 2002/2003 took four or five years to cough up this intelligence under waterboarding? Also, I'm pretty sure that the Bush Administration stated that this method of torture had been discontinued at some point in that interval.

You cannot be that stupid.

Yeah I was agreeing with you. Though I like the emotionless fantasy better... one it reminds me how set apart Spec Ops boys are and two... it deprives Osama the satisfaction of evoking emotion from his killer.

This is actually just an urban legend, the Flight 93 videogame was canceled because the producers couldn't make anything other than an anti-climatic ending.

The SEAL who shot OBL will never talk about it again. Those guys don't brag. To paraphrase the immortal Geto Boys, "real badasses don't flex nuts, cause real badasses know that they got 'em."

Cat Food Sandwiches: This killing made possible by waterboarding. God bless America!

That's some derp logic right there: only interrogations with waterboarding -- which was done to three detainees and ended in 2003 -- produced information. The ongoing regular interrogations from 2003 onward produced nothing because only torture gets results. Supposedly bin Laden's hideout was built in 2006, but that waterboarding from 3-4 years before led us right to it, in just 8-9 years!

I still probably wouldn't, based on his past with gun control issues, and based on parts of his health care agenda, but I have to give the man credit where it is due, and it seems that he handled this perfectly.
