Why am I not surprised that this was soccer related?

Clete Orris: Hooligans.

You called?

Waaaaaah. No one is "forced" off twitter based on the comments sent to you/about you. I didn't see any death wishes posted for him. You'd think he'd know what to expect.

/LeBron James comes to mind here
// He had some pretty awful ones, along the likes of "get run over by a truck", etc.

He should be laughed at endlessly for using twitter in the first place.

I was thinking Jay Cutler when I read the headline. But I was not shocked that it was soccer related when I opened up the article.

I was thinking either Starlin Castro or Matt Garza.

Truer words have never been spoken.

the real story here is that anyone in the UK was able to string together a few sentence fragments without a spelling error.

I think Rio is making all United players get a twitter account. Rooney just got one. And Michael Owen is possibly the most boring person on twitter, and that's saying a lot. His grammar and spelling is very good, though.

When you're spending so much time on the bench, it damn well better be good.

It seems like sports fans spend more time hating their own team these days than their opponents.

Michael Owen also had a decent back and forth with Mirror columnist Oliver Holt about press access and how generally distrusting players are with journalists now (only spoken to at press conferences or promotional jaunts) compared to a few years back (When players and writers would often be at the same hotel and mingle). Was actually quite a good read for 140 characters or less

Seriously, I have yet to see the point in twittering. Sorry, but my life can't be described in 140 characters or less, and I'm not l33t spelling for it either.

Repeating may have become impossible with the salary cap. Detroit got as close as you can get in '09, but they're a bit of a special case. Lots of premium players playing at below league value (Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Franzen, even Howard).

My money right now is Detroit and Montreal in the finals. I was thinking the Flyers for a rematch of '97, but their lack of consistency worries me.
