And another one will be filed tomorrow (last I heard atleast)

2011-04-25 01:27:46 PM
So Scott Walker is using the Sarah Palin excuse, that he can't do his job because so many people are upset about how he is doing his job.

2011-04-25 01:31:12 PM
Man, don't you hate it when voters actually participate in their democracy?

2011-04-25 01:33:10 PM
Walker says in the past lawmakers have faced recall elections after instances of misconduct in office and not over a single vote.

This vote was misconduct in office.

Elections have consequences, Scott.

Walker says in the past lawmakers have faced recall elections after instances of misconduct in office and not over a single vote.

Apparently that single vote pissed off enough people here to cause them face recall. God forbid we get to hold our reps accountable.

Recalls take work and effort. They can't just happen at the drop of a hat so his point is kind of stupid. "At some point if you have a recall after every vote, you could have those continuously, one-after-another-after-another and it makes it very hard in a Republic for things to get done."

Oh poor you. Maybe you shouldn't lie to people about what you are going to do in office. I suppose the recalls against the Democrats that you need booze to get filled out don't count as a waste of time do they Scott?

2011-04-25 01:59:48 PM
This is the price for dishonesty, and I imagine Walker is shiatting in his diapers right about now. In 196 days, we start collecting signatures for HIS recall, and seeing as how well the effort to recall the eligible Republicans has already gone, it's not looking good for the little corporate toady.

I hope it was worth it to him. He'll be remembered as nothing more than a complete disgrace.

We don't like it when our lawmakers break the law.

Don't want to get recalled? Don't be a dick to a huge majority of your electorate.

It's not the way you voted that's getting you recalled so much as what everyone's afraid you'll vote on if they let you stay in office.

2011-04-25 02:33:23 PM
Well, next time don't be a moron and piss off a substantial part of your constituency in a fashion that actually gets them off their asses in opposition to you.

I hope we here in Michigan can say the same thing about Snyder. If we don't get him out of here, we're screwed as a state.

Being from Columbus, Ohio, and a Buckeye, I want to say, "HA HA!" but we have Kaisich, so...yeah, I can empathize. At least our head-dick-in-charge isn't trying to completely usurp the democratic process...yet.

Actually, this is another case of him not know wtf he's talking about and just whining. If you attempt a recall election against someone and it fails, you can't file another for the rest of that reps term. In this case, all of the current senators who have had petitions filed, if they are not removed in the following recall election, they're safe until they run for reelection.

Add in the 1-year-in-office rule, and the only reps that make sense to recall are those with terms greater than 2 years. Those with 2 year terms, you can run into the normal reelection campaign.

When I'm mixing guitar tracks, the wah-bulance is the most important parameter. If the wah-bulance is out by just a tiny bit, it distorts the flangerine levels.

yeah people vote in some idiot according to the lies they were told by him/her. Said idiot goes on for 4 years usually to shiat on everyone and everything. After 4 years, people will vote for same idiot or someone who promises unicorns and more stupid.

Except in this case, the people are trying to back out from that process. Well I got news for you, no backsies, do these people actually believe the next guy/girl will be any better?

Hah good luck getting your rights back. Heck I was so impressed when Obama closed Guantanamo, stopped the warrantless wiretapping, and prosecuted the people responsible for bringing back actions we HANGED PEOPLE OVER AFTER WWII.

2011-04-25 02:46:59 PM
Thus far, Democrats have filed recall signatures against five Republicans: Dan Kapanke, Randy Hopper, Luther Olsen, Sheila Harsdorf and Alberta Darling. Republicans have filed recall signatures against three Democrats: Dave Hansen, Jim Holperin and Robert Wirch. More petitions could yet be filed in the next two weeks.

Yeah... sounds like tons o trouble.

In order to initiate a recall, signatures of at least 25 percent of the number of voters in the previous gubernatorial election, within the targeted district, must be collected in a 60-day window.

What is that, like a couple thousand people? Who is getting signatures? The local chapter of the Alpha Betas only need to hold a couple of keggers to get that many signatures.

Enjoy your gridlock.

You know, with the Marcellus Shale crap we're going through, my state's own Tom Corbett would be the Crappy Governor du Jour in any other election cycle. Instead, he can't even get headlines thanks to Walker. And Snyder. And Perry. And...

Well, yes Scott. Of course it makes your job tough. And no, we won't be holding recalls after anything tries to get passed, just fool-hardy power grabs that fark with the lives of many Wisconsinites. Get it? You tried to fark over a lot of people. You really tried. When people were reasonable with you, you told them to fark off. Now we're dismantling your power structure because we're upset, Scott.

In the future, perhaps we should have a minimum educational requirement to hold our highest offices so that we can prevent your kind of "help."

Better than Walker?

Yes, I do believe the voters of Wisconsin would be hard-pressed to find someone to do as bad of a job or worse of a job than Walker.

There are two. But they're already governor of Michigan and Florida respectively, so I don't think they can run.
