And there's an Iron Man air freshener thing in the car.

I have to admit, that was awesome.

Is the ending that they're not making this movie after all?

Pawn takes the King: Funnier (new window)

Such a simple concept, but I did indeed laugh.

Thanks for that.

Wow. That movie looks hella boring.

Me too. It would have been a cute commercial if the car had been struck by a random bolt of lightning from a storm cloud. Having it come from the hammer just makes it a lame commercial whoring itself out under the flag of "kids are cute"

Wait. Isn't this a spoof of an actual car commercial?

It had me going right till the end thinking this was -another- car commercial.

That was awesome!

Tehrasha: It had me going right till the end thinking this was -another- car commercial.

Same. I was watching it, and my thought process went somewhat like this.

"Man, this is like a direct line-for-line ripoff of the Vader Kid one that came out during the Super Bowl. Didn't even bother to change it up a bit. They are just getting lazy in an attempt to cross commercialize now. What the hell are th THAT MOTEHRFARKING CAR JUST BLEW UP."

Something tells me it might be the same kid

I got the Asgard reference, but was somewhat disappointed at the Wagner reference. Thor wasn't a Walkure - he was the wrong sex, for a start.
A more acceptable excerpt would be "Heda Hedo" sung by Donner (basically the same chap as Thor)

Watch the whole thing, or skip to 5:45 for Donner's bit
(new window)

/Wagnerite, and proud of it.

Would have been funnier if the dog blew up in a shower of blood and viscera.

Imagine working in an insurance company in the Marvel world, where things like this could actually happen. Wonder whether Allstar has a "no mutant children" clause.

There is a Thor action figure on the bed behind the baby doll (on the pillows)

2011-04-21 07:37:57 PM
One more thing,

There's an out of focus Thor doll on the left side of the girl's bed at the 16 second mark.

There's a company called Damage Control that goes out to fix all damage caused by hero/villian fights.

That would not have made it a commercial for a film. That would have made it a parody aimed at either the film or the original car commercial.

You are not a communications major. Stop.

Volkswagon Marketers: You know how we know we made a great commercial?

2011-04-22 12:52:58 AM
I commercial for a movie that shows nothing of the movie at all...

I know we all know about Thor, but I don't think he is that popular of a character, I'm sure a lot of people will think is a movie about the god, not the comic, when they see this commercial. That is If they even get this is for a movie at all.

What's with the name "Ass Guard" anyway? Did the Viking gods live in constant fear of surprise buttsex, or was it a job requirement for all their guards to have really fine asses?

Considering the way to Asgard was over the rainbow bridge, I'm betting on the second option. That would certainly explain all the long, luscious Hanson hair the entire Norse pantheon worked so hard to maintain.

The only thing in the universe Galactus fears is a claims adjuster.

Does no one understand the concept of parody anymore?

Damage control would be a great TV show.

Was that a british car? 'Cause that whole "explode in a cacophony of thunder and lightning" is a standard feature on british cars, the best cars...in the world.

I've literally thought this since the Marvel Annual that had a feature article about them back in what... 92? The one that had the cover that looked like Time magazine with spidey on the cover?
