I don't understand the labeling with political cartoons. The symbolism is already so overt it's like being clubbed over the head. Does the bear, snake, teapot, and elephant really need labeling on top of everything else?

All of never. Also, for it to be racist,I'd assume you'd need to find Bush 'shopped as a cracker, or maybe as a wasp, or in a KKK outfit...and then it'd have to be posted on Fark.

Love the King Kong head-card, by the way.

Snopes says it comes from an american expat blogger with pretentions of journalism interviewing an unverified source at a restaurant. I'm opposed to Palin and while I could hear her saying something like that this time I think it is probably BS.

It was not intended to be a factual statement.

Obama's mother was a citizen. He is a natural-born citizen.

THIS IS ABOUT RACE AND NOTHING ELSE.

Well it is intended for "liberals" after all, so they need to do it. Stupidity has a well known liberal bias.

I think it's QT's second-best film after Reservoir Dogs. Yes, better than Pulp Fiction, imho. Is that wrong of me to think that?

Agreed. 2012 will be an interesting election. With the candidates the Republicans have they will have more positive effect on winning the election for Democracts than the voting Democrats themselves.

No serious candidate wants to even try taking on Obama. They are all waiting for 2016.

None of them will be able to defeat Al Franken.

Seriously.

What if the bear was Russia and the snake was Satan in his Garden of Eden persona? There could be some powerful right-wing imagery going on there.

I always wondered this.

CSB time: A few weeks ago I was "working" at night because we were asked to by my boss for some special project. Anyway I don't normally fark at night but low and behold there was a few names familiar to me during day, churning out the same tired talking points at night. It actually caused me to fark less lately.

Sorry, lads. Birtherism's become too useful to too many cranks, charlatans and conspiracy theorists (who aren't you) as a means to dupe people into buying badly-written conspiracist tracts and recruiting more suckers. It's not going to go away on your say-so.

Get used to the birthers. You're stuck with them until at least 2017. The best you can do now to regain your credibility is to purge them from your organization as thoroughly as you can.

It is so funny to watch you fabricate nonsense and make excuses why one is OK, but the other is not.

You can't be a lib without using double standards. It it impossible, and you have proved it yet again.

I don't honestly know. (I doubt it) But I bet he ripped it off from somewhere, just like his Top Gun is gay rant.

It's ok though if you call it homage. So it's really neither here nor there. Also, the fact that he ripped it off doesn't make it a bad movie per se.

FTA: Pawlenty even turned the matter into a stump-speech punch line. "Now, I'm not one to question the authenticity of Barack Obama's birth certificate," Pawlenty told a tea party rally over the weekend in Iowa. "But when you look at his policies, I do question what planet he's from."

Everytime I hear this guy make a speech, I pretend that his real name is Caspar Milquetoast.

The GOP Talkingpoint who want to distance themselves from the Birthers is "I guess I have to take the President at his word"

"Taking the President at his word" implies that his credibility is somehow on the line or in limbo on the subject.

No, you stupid dolt, you're not "taking the President at his word", you either accept a legal official document issued by the State Government of Hawaii is real, or you believe some mysterious, unidentified cabal cooked it up because you're a nutjob.

The President's Credibility is not what's at question here, it's your sanity.

This might blow your might d, but sometimes you need two standards because there are two separate things.

For instance, a picture of Donald Trump surrounded by money bags says, "I'm aware that he's wealthy." The same picture, but with Joe Lieberman says "I hate Jews."

It's not "having it both ways". It's adding another historical level to something that's already disrespectful.

Jewish boys don't have baptismal records. See, they're not prejudiced against Jews.

What do either one of those have to do with where you're born?

Baptismal records have the date & place you were born. When my family moved from Jersey City to the Jersey Shore, they had lost my birth certificate in the move. When they needed to enroll me in the new school, they used my baptismal record rather than getting another copy. The school accepted it because it had all the required info.

You mean like a state-certified Certificate of Live Birth, which would somehow be unacceptable under this law?

The Rev. Al Sharpton said he views Brewer's veto as a concession that the birther movement has backfired on Republicans."What they meant as a negative ended up being a huge miscalculation because it rallied the very elements in society - from women to blacks to Latinos - who have always had to fight for recognition as equal citizens," he said in an interview. "A lot of people see it as racism. Even when you achieve what people felt was unachievable, you still have to prove you are qualified. That's how a lot of us read it."

Sharpton may be an opportunistic sleezeball, but this is some spot on insight.

Obama needs to make a speech and talk about his and his father's time in Kenya. If he transitions into memories of the first time he saw the Statue of Liberty the change in context will relight the Birther fire.

Yup. As we have learned from proud tea party patriots in our Fark discussions, photoshoppig black peoples faces onto monkeys and emailing them out is not racist. Calling those emails racist is what's actually racist.

That said, I hope these morons keep doubling down on the racism and conspiracies. Let the American people see what the GOP is really all about (Hint: it's not balancing budgets or creating jobs)
