In L.A. - Domianos, across from Canter's Deli on Fairfax.
Thin crust pepperoni and garlic is amazing (plus they deliver until 4am!)
2003-08-08 09:25:33 AM
Actually, being new to Colorado, please somebody let me know the best pizza in the state. I'll drive more than 36 miles to get there if necessary.
2003-08-08 09:36:12 AM
"The Pizza Parlor" - Iron River, Wisconsin
2003-08-08 09:44:50 AM
"Garabaldis" in Memphis used to be pretty damn good. Prince Mongo was (is) a joke.
"NY Pizza" off Tate st. in Greensboro is great (fresh garlic and all.)
"Pie Works" in Winston-Salem is good - you can order ANY topping you want (my fav is pepperoni, spam and crawdads.)
2003-08-08 09:45:52 AM
There was this place I can't remember because I was way too blasted... but its in the village... and it was damn good. NYC Pizza is teh nummy.

2003-08-08 10:09:29 AM
IN RALEIGH, I was always a fan of the pizza at PICCOLA ITALIA in Cameron Village. (Run by a real Italian-born dude, not merely Italian-descended.)

IN THE WASHINGTON, D.C., area, I'd have to say FACCIA LUNA has the best pizza.
2003-08-08 10:19:07 AM
Best chain: Papa John's
Worst chain: Dominoes (godawful pizza)
2003-08-08 10:22:44 AM
Being in Chicago it's hard to choose. I can think of about 10 kick ass places. One of my Favorites is Lou Malnati's.
2003-08-08 10:24:16 AM
I'va always prefered high school cafeteria followed by Chuck E. Cheese's.
2003-08-08 10:27:27 AM
The Villa Cafe, Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY.
It's one of the last places that makes true woodburning-brick oven, fresh mozzarella pizza.
Or Godfather's Pizza, also on Staten Island, but a franchise now.
2003-08-08 10:31:30 AM
My Mom.
2003-08-08 10:35:45 AM
We have crap for pizza here in Texas. My buddy who grew up in Chicago reminds me of this constantly.
2003-08-08 10:45:16 AM
In Tucson it's gotta be Z's. Damn fine pie and a beer list 3 times as long as the menu.
2003-08-08 10:58:56 AM
Il Forno in Union NJ. Anyone that disagrees hasn't had it.
2003-08-08 11:18:34 AM

Cafeteria.. yummy. Which kind, square sausage or triangular pepperoni cubes and grease?

Here in Dallas I'd have to say Prego Pasta House. But if you prefer to eat your pizza with a bunch of uneducated creatins.. CiCi's is always fun.
2003-08-08 11:22:22 AM
Benny Tudino's in Hoboken
2003-08-08 11:27:12 AM
"...CiCi's is always fun. Now that's funny.

In Houston we have a couple of good pizza places, Star Pizza and Ramano's Pizza (on West Gray). Both are about as close as you can come to authenic New York Pizza in Houston.
2003-08-08 11:29:23 AM
Ok, there are rankings for Hartford and Tucson, but not Washington, DC?

I call Shenanigans.
2003-08-08 11:29:34 AM
PieWorks in Greensboro is pretty tasty...
2003-08-08 11:30:58 AM
For the Sacramento listings it's total baloneyfuzz. Luigi's Pizzaria on Stockton Blvd near 13th ave. is awesome, the best pizza I've had in decades. Ingredients all made by a local Italian, sauce of dreams, and a crust that is amazing. Luigi's is god! If Luigi's isn't on this list then this list is just garbage ... though I'm glad to see Roma on there. However, Round f-ing Table is better than Roma or Luigi's? Baloneyfuzz, pure baloneyfuzz.
2003-08-08 11:58:17 AM
Mellow Mushroom- Birmingham and Auburn, AL

also Patera's- Pelham, AL
2003-08-08 11:58:46 AM
The absolute best is the Linguica Pizza at Paul's Pizzaria in Falmouth, Massachusetts.
2003-08-08 11:59:19 AM
Chicago: Uncle Pete's Pizza, with Gino's East a close second (mmmm the burnt peperoni is outstanding!)

Fresno: BC's Pizza and Beer (hands down)

And I agree with akaMonty that Z's is the best in Tucson.
2003-08-08 11:59:21 AM
Though it's hard to beat those 99 cent pizza joints they have in Montreal...
2003-08-08 12:01:48 PM
In California... Bronx Pizza in San Diego. Those guys know how to do NY pizza correctly. Maybe better.
2003-08-08 12:02:01 PM
VI Pizza in Bayside Queens
2003-08-08 12:02:13 PM
Well, according to their city list, most pizza places are on the west coast and Dallas doesn't have any, so why should I care?
2003-08-08 12:02:16 PM
Las Vegas: Metro Pizza I would agree.
2003-08-08 12:02:46 PM
Boulder: Jalino's for a pizza that can be delivered. The Med for just the best pizza...thin, hot...mmm...
2003-08-08 12:03:44 PM
This kind of subject is far too subjective to have "one" answer. But hey, journalists like this kind of writing. Of course the winning entry will be located in New York City.

Texas isn't such a pizza desert...Conan's Pizza in Austin is pretty damn good.
2003-08-08 12:04:27 PM
Mack's-- Jersey Shore
2003-08-08 12:04:34 PM
Detroit area - Hungry Howie's
2003-08-08 12:04:37 PM
Pinnochio's in cambridge. Best sicilian pizza I've ever had. Everyone I know agrees.
2003-08-08 12:04:51 PM
Pizza Schmizza 0wnz j00.

That is all.
2003-08-08 12:04:51 PM
Hideaway's in Crestview FL
2003-08-08 12:04:57 PM
Vizzy's Pizza Palace
Westland, MI

Order the Steak and Chesse Pizza Pie, and you'll never wander anywhere ever again!
2003-08-08 12:05:14 PM
Lousy Pizza in NYC is still better than 99 percent of the pizza anywhere else in the country.

For NYC Two Boots made the list. Itis very bizarre. Very Spicy. It is a louisiana themed Pizza place. The one in the village has a movie theater downstairs. They used to show Donnie Darko every saturday night.

John's Pizza on Bleecker street is very good too.
2003-08-08 12:05:19 PM
Euro Bistro on Federal Hill in Providence, Rhode Island.

Plus the waitress is hot!
2003-08-08 12:05:23 PM
Brooklyn pizza that's the only pizza there is. I had it before but to be honest I didn't taste much of a difference between that and regualr pizza...hey why y'all coming after me with bats? I just sai....
2003-08-08 12:05:29 PM
What kind of farked survey leaves off the 2nd largest city in California....San Diego? Sheesh. DeMille's on University in North Park rules. The insanely fat Chicago-style pizza is the best I've had west of the Mississippi.
2003-08-08 12:05:33 PM
Unfreakable, #3 on the Denver list is the closest you get to real NY pizza - great thin crust - perfect sauce - get to Anthony's for your fix.
2003-08-08 12:05:42 PM
Detroit - Buddy's Pizza (original - 5 Mile & Conant)
2003-08-08 12:06:18 PM
McLean, VA

Try the lemon sorbet, too.
2003-08-08 12:06:26 PM
Bocce's Club pizza in Buffalo, NY. Hands down. And I've tried the "best" in NY, Chicago and many, many other cities across America and Italy. I love pizza as much as I love my mom, and sadly, a city like Buffalo, NY has to claim the best pizza in the entire world.
2003-08-08 12:06:29 PM
Hands down no bar Pickel Fish is the best in Mobile AL
2003-08-08 12:06:55 PM
I miss Sal's Pizza in Oneonta, NY. I hate living here in illinois, there's no place to get good New York style pizza.
2003-08-08 12:06:59 PM
Yeah, I'll second DarkHorses' Mom's pizza.

Burtucci's?! That shiat sucks.

Best in this area would have to be Linguine's in Marlborough MA. At least the best of what I've tried...I'm not going into boston just for pizza. And the Mall eatery version of Pizzaria Regina isn't all that good.
