Apocalypse -- Film rights owned by FOX as part of mutant package.
Galactus -- Film rights owned by Sony as part of FF package.

Thanos and The Mandarin both remain with Marvel Studios AFAIK. Hopefully, we see the Mandarin plot they started in the first Iron Man movie continue to play out and come to fruition in The Avengers franchise.

Thanos is probably asking for too much... Although the Infinity Gauntlet IS in Thor.

Fox will eventually exploit those characters. I expect they'll cast someone like Vin Diesel to play Sinister, and Russell Brand will be cast to play Apocalypse. They'll change their origins so that they are twin brothers who were the first mutants in recorded history, born in ancient Rome. They'll be blue-skinned and wear lots of leather. One will be the "good" brother in the end, and sacrifice himself to save the world.

Enjoy your further bastardization of the X-Men franchise by FOX.

Teased big time. I mean hell, you practically saw his origin take place.

Back in the day (read: a few years ago) they used to wait to see how well a movie did before they green-lit a sequel.

For Marvel's sake, I hope Thor and Captain America clean up at the box office.

Loving the Earth's Mightiest Heroes, though I'm finding Young Justice has better animation.

Hope the movies don't suck. Word from the thor screening seemed to be positive, I gathered through assertive hearsay.

I can't imagine this won't be followed up on. I mean, c'mon, the Abomination is extant, as is The Leader. There has to be something else made of this.

I think Marvel Studio's is looking to the future with everything they do. And I'm all for it!

I don't even know who Hawkeye is, aside from the Alan Alda character.

But I've enjoyed seeing the comics that I didn't read as a kid, and hope to continue to do so.

HOw is that any worse than Egyptian...god, I think it was and 18th century scientist who made himself immortal, or whatever the hell Sinister's origin was?

Hawkeye is the badly, badly overdone "selfish" hero. I hope he dies a horrible fiery death if they make a movie about this loser.

Apocalypse wasn't a god, he was one of, if not the, first mutant. Born in ancient Egypt, he was ostracized for his appearance but respected by many for his strength. He fought alongside Imhotep and later served under King Ramesses II. Ozymandias, as Ramesses II is referred to in the comics, went on to serve Apocalypse after he was granted immortality.

Sinister is from the 19th century. He made a pact with Apocalypse to become immortal, but later orchestrated the conception of Nathan Summers (Cable) in order to destroy his one-time ally.

Jesus. At this rate the Avengers movies will be 20 years from now, all the original actors will be old and I'll be old enough to pass over watching it so I can catch an AMC viewing of "bridges of Madison county".

S'okay. Disney proved you can successfully and realistically regress someone's true age through CGI. Tron with Jeff Bridges being their spectacular example.

Okay as the biggest Hawkeye fan on Fark, I'm not sure I want a Hawkeye movie. The character works GREAT when teamed up with someone but by himself, I don't know.

A Captain America/Hawkeye movie could be great. The dynamic would move from the initial Cap's Kooky Quartet antagonism, there would HAVE to be at least one instance of Hawkeye calling Cap Methuselah. As the movie progressed their relationship would mature to point where Clint would be the first person Steve would call upon in a crisis ala, Avengers Vol. 3 #3 when Yeoman America sought out Longbow to awaken him from the spell they had been put under.

Ok, so in the trailer Cap has his trademark circular shield. Yet vibranium wasn't synthesized until Tony did it in Iron Man 2. So does that mean his shield in the Cap movie is not the trademark vibranium/steel alloy shield?

Cap got his iconic shield somewhere during a story in WWII by Simon and Kirby (Captain America Comics #2 April 1941) Maybe Howard Stark, who is in the film, figured it out but didn't write it down or the secret was put in the box next to the Ark in the warehouse.

I thought in his film for the Stark Expo, he told Tony that this was his legacy to him. He did not have the technology to synthesize the new element, but perhaps Tony can in the future.

Right, but 'Pocy was worshipped as a god, as I recall. I dunno, I was never really big on either of them as villains...or characters, really. They always seemed overpowered or just plain stupid.

Well, except for Age of Apocalypse Sinister. THAT iteration I kinda liked.

Yeah, i know theyre not. And i dont think Ant-Man is really deserving of his own movie, but its not the avengers without Pym.

And without Wasp i dont know what likable character Whedon is going to kill off suddenly.
