A blood alcohol level of 0.38% and he wasn't the pilot?

Anyway, according this this table, he was of medium build, he would have to have had 15 drinks in an hour. Not much if you ask me. :)

There's a beer on the wing of the plane!

For Scandinavians, it's impossible to be 'unbelievably drunk'. It's *always* believable.

"Stewardess, May I have a beer?"

"Would you like that in the can?"

"No, I'll have it right here..."

3.0 per thousand is enough to lose bladder control, and he was at 3.8! I wonder what functions he lost control of being 30% over that. God bless the flight crews and the shiat they put up with.

Holy cow. So you lose your mind and stay awake all night?

Seen plenty drunk Norwegians and Swedes...perfectly believable...but usually on a ferry somewhere near Finland. Jeebus, they can drink, and that's saying something!

2003-08-07 10:06:51 AM
maybe I'm drunk..... no wait I am. But when I look at soul's profile I don't see a Fark ID. How do you hide it? 'cause I'm sick of being called a newbie.

Why did they let him on the plane? Or if he was sober when he went aboard, why did they allow him to get drunk?
He should sue the airline for negligence.

2003-08-07 10:11:24 AM
I will not squeel in the mud,
I will not squeel cause you're a stud;
I will not squeel on a plane,
I will not squeel if hit with a chain;
I do not like your anal sex plan,
I do not like it, Mr hillbilly Man.

Why do I think the tag said it all? No need for reading the article, right?

P.S. Unbelievably drunk as opposed to believably?

The overnight ferry between Turko and Stockholm is something everyone who thinks they're a heavy drinker should experience. Mayhem at 15 knots while four decks below the water line. Yeehaw!

2003-08-07 10:19:06 AM
Oink.

2003-08-07 10:20:18 AM
They weren't server burritos on the plane by any chance?

2003-08-07 10:21:08 AM
Below the water line in a storm - no thank you. I'd rather swing around like a chandelier in an earthquake on the top deck than be in a watery grave that just hasn't been filled in yet.

Ive said it before, and Ill say it again; There is no such thing as "unbelivable drunk" when it comes to us norwegians. We simply dont have the culture for drinking - Instead of taking one beer for dinner every day of the week, well grab all seven on saturday night and go on a drunken rampage for more beer (and for you USians; the beer you got is pisswater compared to ordinary wegian beer - were talking twice the amount of alcohol here). And beer isnt the only thing we drink... akkevit has been mentioned, and among us younger people vodka with red bull has grown popular lately (Ill just say one thing about that; I never thought I could party 12 hours straigt). Drinking "u-boat" is popular too - you take one dram of akkevit (in its glass) and sink it in your beerglass. Hits like a hammer.

Oh, for those interested; if you have more than 0.2 parts per thousand alcohol in your bloodstream, youre legaly speaking drunk - drive your car and you risk loosing your lisence for at least six months, plus a fine, the possibility of 30 days in the big house and the humiliation of explaining the wife what happened.... Just dont drink and drive people.

2003-08-07 10:25:36 AM
They should've just let him step out for a smoke.

Was on the ferry (or some ferry..vague memories) 2 yrs ago for new years eve.....don't remember a whole lot, but there were finnish and Russians there, and all the russians looked very dodgy.....and the alcohol consumption was unparallelled..olympian style. wow

2003-08-07 10:28:31 AM
wait..i gotta here more about this aquavit thing..what is it... how to make.. coffee????

I used to work on deep-sea crab boats. Believe me, those floating hotels they have for ferries in Europe are tame compared to the ride you get in small fishing trawler. Quite possibly the worst job in the world.

Course, if one of those front loading ferries doesn't quite stay shut (a la the Talinn ferry disaster in the '80s), those ferries'll go down amazingly quick.

So I'm part Irish and part Norwegian. Pretty much I'm destined to become an alcoholic.

Please check out Trinity Brewhouse's website here in Providence, Rhode Island. Sean Larkin is the Brewmaster and his beer rocks!!! All fresh, unpasturized, and some like the Barley Wine and the Russian Imperial Stout, have 8-12%!!! Oh, yaeh, All of it is way delicious.

Some Americans have good taste in beer.

2003-08-07 10:33:02 AM
There are tons of good American beers, but they don't get exported for the most part. Most of the stuff that ends up in Europe from here is swill.

2003-08-07 10:34:42 AM
Eek, some memories coming back now: Running around on deck, at a Baltic -25 or something sans jacket thinking it was lovely and mild...

Teaching a bunch of enormous Swedes to 'riverdance', oh the delight.....damn, thought i'd supressed those memories

Trinity - great freaking beer. Also check out Buzzard's Bay Brewing in Westport MA.

... and I am the most appreciative of that work!! Nothing on this planet compares to a heaping plate of Alaskan King Crab claws!! (drool)!!

I have a question regarding that as a matter of fact? What is the season for that? Right now, I can't even FIND them here (Alabama) right now.

Still leaves 99.62 percent untainted blood. Think possitive people.
