According to thinly spread Border Patrol agents, areas with these fences require less manpower to patrol.

But what the hell do they know.

All political talk about reforming illegal immigration is a load of bullshiat until people who hire illegals are hit with huge fines.
But that will not happen because it's easier to appease the public with a smokescreen, than actually doing something about the problem.
Case in point, here in Los Angeles, Home Depot has built shelters in parking lots where illegals can wait to be picked up for labor by contractors. They are easy to find, just follow the scent of urine. Police are NOT allowed to harass illegals at these shelters.

Great, they can come live with you, and you can sell of your possesions to pay for their anchor babies food, clothes and education. If it's good enough for the border states, it's good enough for you.

cgraves67: A 15ft ladder isn't going to help much on a 15ft fence. The ladder would be vertical and fall over when you climb it. If you set the base of the ladder 5ft from the fence, you would need a 15ft 10in ladder to reach the top.

85% of illegals cross for jobs, tale away the jobs they will stay at home, making it easier to catch the remaining 15% that cross for other reasons, additionally as the recent economic meltdown has shown many will self-deport if they can't get work. While not a cure all it is a good start, better than have a "tactical ladder race" with the illegals. It will then give us some breathing room so we can figure out how to fix the problem once and for all

Rip Dashrock: All political talk about reforming illegal immigration is a load of bullshiat until people who hire illegals are hit with huge fines.

They already are hit with huge fines.

They get hit with huge fines when they try too hard to not hire illegal aliens. That's the EEOC.

Then a few years later they get raided by ICE and have 1/3 of their work force taken away in zip-ties and then most of 2nd shift doesn't show up for fear of meeting the same fate.

That actually happened where I worked. Ha ha! Your business is now crippled because you have no one to work for you anymore. While not a direct fine, that really hurt.

There really isn't much legit employers can do. If a prospective employee presents documentation you've got to hire them or face accusations of discrimination.

You can check their SSN through e-verify, but all that means is that they have someone's legitimate SSN. That SSN may already be employed at that company. It happens. That SSN may be in use at 100 other employers spread across the US. That happens too.

And yet the government refuses to crack down on obvious identity theft in the name of privacy - and because it's good business for them.

And then you get the bleeding hearts who wail and moan because deporting illegal aliens tears children from their parents - or so they claim.

Couldn't we seriously just build a damn trench with a few Bagger 288s that no one could get over and after the trench is dug, then put a nice tall wall on our side of the trench?

So in order to get over, you'd

A) Have to get over the massive trench which would be probably 5-6 stories deep at least and pretty damn wide.

B) Then you'd have to haul gear back up the other side to even begin to breach the wall.

Just get one of these started on the West Coast at San Diego/Border and the other in Texas and start moving towards each other along the border.

1. They wouldn't fit in my apartment, and the landlord doesn't allow subletting. If they can figure out how to pay the rent, and they don't cause trouble, I don't see the problem letting them live wherever they can talk a landlord into writing them a lease.

2. By the way, why is it fair for me to pay taxes to finance the education for your children and not fair for you to pay taxes to finance the education of somebody else's children? :D

If you've ever seen Border Wars (we just did the DVD/BluRay set for Nat Geo at our company), you'll see what a joke our fences and walls are. Most just scale over them or slip through cracks, cuts, etc made in the fence/wall.

We really need something like a massive trench with a wall on our side...it's the only way to stop the majority of them from crossing. Most would never have the ability to get over something that deep and wide if we made it.

The good news is, you can get loans to pay for the immigrantes and all their children's needs. If it's good enough for the border states, it's good enough for you. Giving handouts with other peoples money, it's what a libtard is good for.

Walker: Two fences with a minefield in between. Wall to wall mines. Problem solved.

And some enterprising Mexicans will grab a shovel and start a lucrative business selling slightly-used mines to the drug lords.

Static defenses don't exist to stop movement; they exist to slow it down. Without an active patrol to keep an eye on things, and maybe a few well-placed snipers, it's just an expensive nuisance. Though I'm sure the high-bidder Government contractors who'll be profiting on the fence contract (build by Mexicans) and the sale of all those old mines will be quite happy. Taxpayers, not so much.

[Alternately: 1.) Cut hole in fence. 2.) Herd goats through hole. 3.) Profit. Goat kabobs and a cleared path.]

Funny about the Arizona legislature. They were about to pass further anti-illegals legislation when a letter arrived signed by 60 Arizona CEOs. Needless to say, the legislation didn't pass. But I'm sure some hefty political donations were made when the legislation didn't pass.

And of course nobody took the CEOs to task. I haven't seen a single reporter investigating the companies to see whether they are illegally hiring illegals.

But these CEOs live in gated communities. They don't have to deal with murderers coming into their homes like I did last week. I just wish the people who don't care about laws being broken would have to live next door to 30 illegals. And have their homes broken into, have their daughters whistled at, have their cars stolen by criminals who wouldn't even be in this country if it were not for a trinity of government, business and organized crime working together.

The illegals and the cartels and gangs that bring them here are despoiling our schools and neighborhoods by de facto. If you are so far removed from it that you don't see it, then you are not worth discussing it with. Try living in the neighborhoods and volunteering at the schools, and get back to me after you see the children of illegals beating-up hispanics who actually try to better themselves and so well in school; listen to them be called traitor, gringo and a bunch of other foul names. Watch the victims get transferred out of the school for their own protection while the children of illegals carry-on and harass students and teachers. Get back to me when you see illegals who are unwilling to stand for the Pledge of Allegance despite the fact that they get free food at school, free education, free tutoring until 9pm at night, free day care for the kids of these students, and welfare checks and food stamps each month. All for the price of admission, which they pay to the drug and smuggling cartels. But don't you worry your pretty little head, we can just borrow another billion to pay for it all.

Peacefull my arse.
