Duh.

Until I see huge cuts in the defense budget I will assume, as always, that the cuts are based at striking down things that conservatives ideologically oppose and have absolutely nothing to do with the deficit. In other words, they are liars.

2011-04-13 09:05:32 AM
Obviously we need to figure out a way to weaponize children and the poor.

2011-04-13 09:09:34 AM
Malnurished kids don't grow up to be good soldiers, guys.

2011-04-13 09:22:17 AM
So, just to review. Republican math means that spending more than we cut will help the deficit because there is still spending cut. Got it.

Aarontology: Malnurished kids don't grow up to be good soldiers, guys.

While that certainly is true, malnourished kids don't do well in school, thus ensuring a healthy supply of cheap labor, something we need to compete with the third world industries. The ultimate goal of the GOP is to bring back child labor, where the employers would have to feed the kids to keep them working.

Well, as long as the bombs are well fed.

I have a modest proposal...

2011-04-13 10:07:57 AM
Well, we sure don't want to spend any money on kids because socialism, and the defense contractors need to be aid with tax dollars because they don't have any private sector business and would starve to death if we didn't.

i'm glad these republicans are christians, just so i can know they will burn in hell for what they're doing.

Can you think of a better way to reduce the number of poor people in the country than to let them die from malnutrition?

It's a brilliant plan. BRILLIANT.

It's like retroactive abortions. Who'd a thunk Republicans would get behind that?

Well, we do need to replace all those bombs we're sending to Libya. On top of all the bombs we sent to Iraq and Afghanistan. And the drones use armaments too...even if Pakistan wants us to stop giving them to their people.

Cut it all. Planned Parenthood to NPR to more cruise missiles. Cut it all. And not less than 1% of the budget when we'd need to cut 40% to come close to balancing he budget. Cut it all.

Hey, if those kids don't like their working conditions then they can go find another employer who will treat them better!

And how exactly would poor children protect our country???

We need to figure out to get them to aerosol form and shoot them on palaces. You can't do shiat as a man with a bunch of kids and an agry wife with no money. It would get rid of Kim Jong in a heartbeat.

Look, it's not socialism when it's *corporate* welfare, hippy. It's only bad if the money goes to poor people.

2011-04-13 12:30:57 PM
Because when the military gets an increase, it's "the Pentagon budget", but when the military gets a decrease, it's "a hardship on the deployed soldiers and their families".

We're becoming more and more like North Korea: keep the military fat at the expense of the starving peasants.

Poor children should be out on the street begging for their next meal. Stop leeching of the taxpayers.

As a Libertarian I agree.

I also disagree with them claiming to be Christian when they cut things directly supporting elderly, poor, sick, and children.

I do agree that things need to be cut. I feel it should be including the military and I feel that we should be waiting to prevent the mistake made during FDR's term.

Too bad they have it based in reality:

"Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) suggested that child labor laws, FEMA, food stamps, the FDA, Medicaid, income assistance for the poor, and even Medicare and Social Security violate the Constitution. "

Don't you guys get it, if we cut money from the defense dept that means we're going to be weak against terrorism!!$*@@&&!!!!

I mean I'm pretty sure the terrorists have enough money in their budget for a couple B-52s, bunker bombs, transport choppers, and their own F-22 raptors...

Sorry libs. If those kids want to eat, they should join up and serve their country like real men instead of being leeches on society.

//If everything I've ever owned is any indication, my 2 yr. old son could easily destroy a tank.

Goodfella: We're becoming more and more like North Korea: keep the military fat at the expense of the starving peasants.

Fail. The starving peasants aren't paying any taxes, so how can it be "at their expense"? Entitlement-thinking at its best.

Can we stop being the world police and focus on our own problems? Or does me wanting to make the military budget smaller make me a commie?

Look, we all have to sacrifice for the good of military contractors , and $700 billion in tax cuts for the wealthy.

You'll get over it.

Especially you poor people.

I'm not saying Republicans are anything but evil. I'm not saying there's not a clear issue with these two changes being side-by-side and in the name of fiscal responsibility.

I'm just asking - who in Washington, right now or in the near future, is going to actually get serious about our budget growth outpacing our Federal income like Michael Phelps in a swimming competition with quadriplegics?

Is it odd that Angry Drunk Bureaucrat almost makes it seem like his name might be true....or am I losing my mind?

Weaponizing children? Haven't you ever been woken by the little terrorists at 3 AM by a knee to the groin while hearing "Daddy?"? Obviously they are already weaponized.

You know there is a way to fix that, bring them back so they are no longer deployed. I guess that is to easy, so let's cut all the programs the GOP doesn't like instead "rolls eyes"
