I kind of hate this guy. I can't put my finger on why, but just looking at him makes me want to chuck a bottle at his head.

That kind of worked for him in the Hangover. Works against him here.

Unless he's playing Funboy.

I was thinking this too. I had to reread the headline a few times.

Isn't "Crow Remake" redunant? Don't they all have the exact same plot?

i want them to remake that awesome Crow movie that stared Ed Furlong... that thing was awesome...

to be honest the Crow wasn't that good, it was very 90's and the goth elements will likely feel hokey. If you try to get rid of the goth feel, it isnt a crow movie. Brandon Lee played the role as well as anyone could, the perfect blend of crazy, badass vindicator with a heart of gold. I will watch it, I just hope it doesn't suck

What a great soundtrack, as a youngster I accidentally bought the score, and that was really good too.

Basicly, yes. Also, much like The Matrix sequels, they should have left it at one and done.

Agreed. Best soundtrack ever.

This Brad Cooper is a total douche, btw. I guess it isn't bad enough to just reboot the film, they've got to douchify it also.

This, and that. The dark and brooding nature was perfect for the 90s, and the soundtrack captured a feeling of mourning the past while assured of the future's triumphant vengeance. That feeling just doesn't seem like it will carry today where we are stuck in a rut of mindless indulgence and malaise.

Can't do that - that's a creative idea for an original movie. You're clearly too smart to work in today's Hollywood.

Bradley Cooper looks like he was born to be in Romantic Comedies with some very light weight action movies like The A Team.

I don't think he's going to make a great Crow. Brandon Lee was more in touch with that culture and was far more believable as an aspiring musician.

Bradley Cooper should be competing with Matthew McConowhatever over who gets to star with Reese Witherspoon or Kate Hudson in the next blatantly contrived romantic comedy.

They already made three sequels and a TV show

I'll jump on the soundtrack wagon.

Crow and Natural Born Killers both had awesome soundtracks. Actually the soundtrack to Sucker Punch reminds me a lot of them. It's thematically consistent and remixed for darkness.

Pretty much. The first movie was a great 90s time capsule (great soundtrack too), but with three completely pointless sequels and a tv show already, it's been bled dry.

Are they going to go by the actual comics or the books based off the comic? If they go by the books they should go by the Poppy Z Brite version because of strange the story line it. Be interesting to see the twin boys and one of the boys gets a sex change and the boy who doesn't is gay and gets a boyfriend and he dies and becomes the Crow or something. I think the twins make out too.

You're probably right, but the whole thing had a feel to it, an atmosphere, that couldn't be faked. Part of it goes to director Alex Proyas (who did it again with Dark City), but I think most of it was the death of the lead actor. I just don't think a "feel" like that can be recreated. They may make a technically superior movie, but it probably won't have a feel to it.

/what do i know

The original Crow movie is among my favorites, even today.

It had a great atmosphere, a vibe of both sadness and anger on it, an amazing soundtrack and some solid action.

It had a great concept for the 90's, but I don't know how could it be translated into a current film.

They probably would strip the main character of the sense of anger and nostalgia for the past and make him just a depressed emo...

Somehow I think it would be incredibly difficult to convince a studio to spend the amount of money on a soundtrack necessary to match the quality of the first soundtrack.

There are a lot of great bands on that album and all of the contributions were very high quality.

Robert Smiths lyrics are so closely related to the storyline that you would think he had read the script several times before penning the lyrics.

Crow Reboot would be a great title for Bill Corbett's autobiography if there were such a thing for some bizarre reason.

Wut? Like movies got any brighter? Depending on how much money you have, you might get a little more slow-mo or shaky-cam.

Other than that, nothing much changed. The difference between 2011 and 1994 is definitely smaller than between 1994 and 1984, movie-wise, at least outsider of nothing-but-CGI flicks.

I did the same exact thing and was pissed about it, for about 10 minutes. I went and bought the actual soundtrack a few weeks later, and while that got more play time than the score, it wasn't by much.

I am generally really pissed about Hollywood just redoing movies but this is the Crow. Leave it alone. The original was perfect, do not mess with it. Just...just leave it alone!!

A passable Crow film in 2011 would require JGL in the title role. It doesn't need a reboot either, a faithful film based on the original material is the only way it wouldn't suck. Why? It's fresh and has never been done.

From wiki...

O'Barr stated in a 2004 interview that The Crow: Author's Edition would contain at least "60 pages of new material that no one has ever seen. Half of that are pages that had to be removed for space reasons". O'Barr describes the additions as including "more romance flashback scenes between Eric and Shelly", as well as sequences which will make the work "more visually interesting".[2]

On January 16, 2010, it was announced on James O'Barr's official website that the Author's Edition of The Crow is going to be released and that James O'Barr is currently working on the Book [3]

On January 11, 2011, it was announced that readers PROBABLY "might be able to buy it as early as summer."

Anyone actually think painting up the Wedding Crashers guy and having him pretend to play guitar on rooftops while he's not dramatically killing "bad guys" will break even?

Works very well if he really wants to play Tom Buchanan. I can see him fitting nicely into that role.
