Whaat's the cool part? The mugging? Or the offer to return and get mugged again?

2003-08-06 12:03:24 PM
I went to detroit once. I vowed to never return.

2003-08-06 12:13:00 PM
Attention Waldorf Hotel in NYC: I vow to never return to your city again! Please call me and we can discuss.

The assault left her with a deep gash in her skull that required stitches and shattered bottom front teeth.

That right there would be enough for me never to return.

2003-08-06 12:31:02 PM
Where is the person offering to be a body guard?

On a side note: I vowed to never return to Vegas after I lost money and noone gave a fark.

2003-08-06 12:34:43 PM
From what popular television has told me that's just N.Y. way of saying, "Welcome to the Big Apple."

2003-08-06 12:52:42 PM
Rule #1 when traveling.
Don't look like a farking tourist. Dumbass.

2003-08-06 01:15:28 PM
"...shattered bottom front teeth."

I'm sure she'll be glad to take Le Cirque up on their offer as soon as she is no longer drinking from a straw.

She should definitely go back...heavily armed.

Don't fall for that old trick mate. These cunning hoteliers are planning to burgle your house while you're away.

2003-08-06 02:25:43 PM
I plan to never return to New York, London or Brazil! Now, gimme some swag!

2003-08-06 02:26:35 PM
Lived there.

Hated it.

Nice restaurants, though.

Still not going back.

2003-08-06 02:26:45 PM
I've never been to NYC, but I have already vowed never to return.

2003-08-06 02:27:18 PM
They're only trying to lure her back to finish the job.

That's what we Detroiters would do.

2003-08-06 02:27:51 PM
He's TOURING NYC - the mugging is part of the tour, asshat. That is what happens in NYC - welcome to the naked city, now go home loser.

2003-08-06 02:27:55 PM
just blew your lawsuit.

2003-08-06 02:28:40 PM
Please just accept the crime, violence, overcrowding and filth. After all, we have great restaurants and hotels!

-Uh, no thanks.

Did we mention broadway shows?

-Not interested.

You have to come back! The world must see that the experience of living in New York, with its cosmopolitan atmosphere, justifies all of these petty inconveniences you may encounter.

-Nope

Damn you! But that's why we live here!!

2003-08-06 02:28:45 PM
Yeah, becuase she'll really enjoy that steak dinner in the retaurant with her new dentures.

2003-08-06 02:29:28 PM
He=She in my last P-ost (and in the case of many NYC hookers)

2003-08-06 02:29:56 PM
I vow never to think about going to NYC.

2003-08-06 02:31:11 PM
NYC is easily the best city in the US. Used to live there, and would do so again in a heartbeat if the opportunity came up. If this farking pansy ass Canadian can't take a little mugging, he should go the fark back to Canadialand where he came from, put on a skirt and shut the fark up.

2003-08-06 02:31:25 PM
maybe next time she woun't be standing in the middle of the sidewalk looking at all the pretty, shiny buildings.

2003-08-06 02:32:47 PM
This same thing happened to me. Except replace "mugged" with "stuck on the turnpike" and "NY City" with New Jersey.

Oh and the part about anyone giving a crap. That certainly didn't happen.

I sit at home and pretend I'm in New York. First I have to keep the toilets unflushed for a week.

2003-08-06 02:33:32 PM
Where as a tourist did this chick wander off to, that she got mugged? Most of Manhattan is as safe as any city in the the U.S. Still, it happens. Rememder that English couple that got attacked during the Puerto Rican Day parade a couple of years ago?

2003-08-06 02:33:38 PM
Everything's better in New York

2003-08-06 02:33:58 PM
A skinny little crack-head tried to mug me the last time I was in NYC. I gave him the beating of his life, before I could finish him off the NYPD show up and threaten to arrest me. I still go back though, the city is too much fun to stay away from.

2003-08-06 02:34:07 PM
I vow never to return to the Mercedes dealership! Now, to whom do I talk to about my free vehicle?

2003-08-06 02:34:12 PM
Would be "ironic" if she came back and got mugged again... hint hint.

2003-08-06 02:35:15 PM
I went to Abilene, TX once. I vowed to never return. And I didn't even get mugged.

2003-08-06 02:35:44 PM
NYC... Been there once, that was enough (lived upstate for 8 years). Lots of other places in America to visit, I've heard Chicago was pretty nice for a big city...

2003-08-06 02:37:01 PM
I got ripped off my first trip to New York. Isn't that part of the personality of the city.

BTW: NYC is #2 behind Mexico City on the list of my least favorite cities.

My favorite city overall? SF
My favorite foreign city? Madrid

2003-08-06 02:37:06 PM
Sorry, those of us from Canada aren't used to violent muggings St.Alfonzo. That wasn't a "little mugging", a "little mugging" would be someone with a knife saying "hand over your wallet", not getting your face cut to shreds and getting beaten to a pulp.

2003-08-06 02:37:29 PM
"All right New York! I'm coming back! But you're not getting this!"

It's all a stunt by Trump. He mugged her, and now he's looking for free press. j/k It was probably Al Sharpton ...

/runs to East Hampton

2003-08-06 02:38:26 PM
I got mugged in San Diego and had to have surgery to fix my nose afterwards, still love the city.

I've still vowed never to return but thats cause my Ex-Wife lives there.

2003-08-06 02:38:54 PM
Step 1: Visit NYC.
Step 2: Get Mugged.
Step 3: PROFIT!!!

2003-08-06 02:38:54 PM
Oh, see now if I'd bothered to actually read the article I would have realized it was a she, and I wouldn't have bothered with that part about 'put on a skirt' in my last post as it's just not funny in this case. My bad.

2003-08-06 02:39:07 PM
I vow never to return to the Bunny Ranch in Nevada, and the crack hose on the corner of 173 Livonia Street in Detroit, Michigan.

2003-08-06 02:39:47 PM
Where's the offers from the NYC dentists to pay her for a new grill?

First time I visited Manhattan, I went for some chinese food. Rick Moranis walked by. Only person better to see would be David Letterman.

2003-08-06 02:41:18 PM
Maybe that's what you think a little mugging is up there in Canadia, Hosebag, but down here you get cut up.

2003-08-06 02:42:09 PM
Come on back, we hate to leave a job half-finished.

2003-08-06 02:42:32 PM
How do we know SHE didn't start it? Maybe she brought it on herself?

/I like Lithium, and so do I.

2003-08-06 02:42:38 PM
I want to make an appointment with a mugger so I can get free rooms, entertainment and food if I visit there.

2003-08-06 02:42:39 PM

"A skinny little crack-head tried to mug me the last time I was in NYC. I gave him the beating of his life, before I could finish him off the NYPD show up and threaten to arrest me."

If this is true you deserve a HERO tag. If more people did this.......uh, I would laugh.

2003-08-06 02:42:47 PM
Hmmm, this sounds suspiciously like the Wallet Boy story from the late, great "Get a Life."

2003-08-06 02:43:49 PM
The same happened here in detroit a little while ago. Some asian-canadian tourist got robbed in their hotel room, so the DT businesses bent over backwards for them. After the story hit the papers, of course.

2003-08-06 02:43:54 PM
If Trump were serious about getting her to return, he'd have the mugger caught and offer to let her cut him up witha bottle on pay-per-view.

And St.Alfonzo, I think I'll take a Canadian-style mugging where I don't get my teeth smashed over a bigger , better, American mugging.

2003-08-06 02:44:18 PM
Merely getting one's wallet/purse taken is one thing, but getting beaten and slashed is another.

I feel very sorry for the woman and don't blame her - such a trauma I wouldn't wish on anyone.

I, myself, however, just can't stay away from the Broadway shows and Yankee stadium.
