The problem(s) with big jpegs are that they make the comment thread more difficult to load for dialup users. At 5k/sec avg., dialup users have a page load time of around 20 sec. on your pic alone (ideally).

Just optimize the pic to around 40k max and no wider than around 500 pixels before you post and you'll be fine.
