True. But I'll take anything in the plus column at this moment. For that matter, I can be happy that it isn't a large negative.

Yep, so NEW jobless claims are pretty low, so how does that equate to those that have used up their allotment of "unemployment" "benifits"? That number is still pretty farking HIGH!

K) Those jobs were created by the bills to redefine rape, defund teleprompter, destroy constitutional checks & balances, crush unions

2011-03-31 03:34:25 PM
6,000 fewer claims is a meaningless statistic. (a) It is such a relatively miniscule number that it is insignificant. (b) Fewer claims only means fewer claims.

Most of those jobs were taking down labor murals.

2011-03-31 03:35:27 PM
Remember their logic for cutting state workers: more unemployed people means more demand for jobs, so companies can cut wages and afford to hire more people. Therefore, these people getting jobs are hurting the economy and leading to higher unemployment. QED.

However, the GOP is supposed to be helping Americans get jobs (as promised by their campaign). Even if it fell by only 6000, they are doing it wrong.

2011-03-31 03:38:24 PM
Wow, 6,000 really? And this is supposed to make us get excited? I'm sure that the millions of Americans still looking for work will take great comfort in that number.

I think the next step for you, artistically, is to eschew punctuation altogether. I think that degree of creative freedom would really help get you where you need to be. This could be a major turning point for you.

They aren't going to do shiat until they pass a real budget. Well, except start a kinetic war or something...but legislation has pretty much come to a halt.

2011-03-31 03:49:38 PM
No, the GOP just ignores the labor participation rate being lower. Then finds any way to demonize the 99'ers without making any effort to hire them.

When the labor force participation rates are pre-recession levels, and the 99'ers are hired, then there is a recovery. Until then, the GOP just wants to sweep the problem under the rug and conflate the unemployed with multigenerational welfare recipients.

Ugh, will people just stop with this kinda crap? It just makes you look like an idiot. I can live with the libtard/conservatard thing cause that's almost always tongue in cheek but the party name thing just makes you look like a stupid partisan hack.

Unfortunately this is likely true. Really hope this is a sign we're turning the corner but I know it isn't.

Psh, you have to create at least 150,000 jobs per month to account for population increase.

Oh, wait...

That, and 15+ million people still unemployed yet no longer counted.

Shame they got rid of the U-7 number, which counted the long term discouraged.

Only for people que.guero: So in other words, 6000 people's unemployment benefits ran out. This is news?

Only for the people who just discovered that they have no job, but are no longer declared as unemployed.
