When a large tract of their territory becomes irredeemably defiled (rather than simply blown up, which they seem to enjoy) they may start to think twice about attacking Israel. Bonus: No one can accuse the Israelis of doing this to drive the Palestinians out of Gaza since it makes the land unfit for Jews as well.
