"A chicken in every pot, which you'll need to pay your doctor."

Maybe the media will go easier on her if she doesn't insist on continually doubling down on her stupid.

That was Sue Lowden, the one Angle knocked out in the primaries. Angle was "Second Amendment remedies".

Crimeny, if you're going to quote derp, quote the correct derp.

Coelacanth: Sharon Angle is to the GOP as Mrs. Carmody was to the crowd of people stuck inside the supermarket in The Mist.

That story (along with a few other gems from TV shows, etc.) has taught me that if you ever encounter anyone like that in a dire situation they need to be killed IMMEDIATELY before they wind up getting you all eaten/dismembered/etc.

What I read: "Moron politician discovers that chickens do, in fact, come home to roost".

What we should all be reading: "Socialist coont demands return of Fairness Doctrine".

Gotta earn respect, Sharon.

2011-03-22 03:50:33 PM
The Republican Party is now the party of hidden agendas. If Gov. Warner had run on a platform of breaking the unions, pauperizing local school districts and selling off state utilities to the Koch brothers, would he have been elected? Of course not, and yet that was in retrospect his program from Day One. Bush did the same thing, on a massive scale, when he ran his first presidential campaign on a platform of "we're not interested in nation-building" when obviously invading Iraq was his first priority. The GOP has now demonstrated a wilingness to say or do anything to get into power; once there, they do exactly as they please with very little bearing on their campaign promises, much less their responsibilty to the electorate. The Republicans feel entitled to lie to advance their agenda. It's a little difficult to show them respect when they have a proven track record of playing fast and loose with the truth and the people's welfare.

I don't want to protract this further but if you check carfully she makes three points and there are more than two sides to this story. Maybe you are the one who should shape up because you are way off base.

If you find yourself asking for respect, chances are you don't deserve any.

Anyone feel like pointing out to me when the "MSM" was unfair to Angle? What did they do aside form printing the actual words out of her mouth?

Seriously. I keep hearing these Tea 'tards claiming that the press is after them. Where? When did Brian Williams do a hit piece on her? When did the NYT print anything critical aside from an op-ed?

SHOW ME HOW THE MEDIA HAS DISRESPECTED YOU.

Difficulty: Blogs and partisan websites are not the "press."

When facts go against what Conservatives say and do (very often), they get defensive and brush off those facts as "lies from the liberal mainstream MSM media"

I don't think you've got a solid grasp on the matter. There's no proof the media bias encompasses Angle. Maybe they aren't skewed against her, it's just her flat affect and unwillingness to plane down her sharp edges means she's not the media darling she thinks she is. Her sphere of real influence just doesn't have the dimensions she thinks it does. Were I you, I'd be a little more concerned about the linearity of her thought processes or the circular nature of her argument.

dickfreckle: reporting actual words out of her mouth?

That's called "Gotcha Journalism". Whenever you ask a political figure a question that reveals them as idiots, you are being unfair to them. That is disrespectful.

2011-03-22 04:06:15 PM
You want my respect?

EARN IT.

2011-03-22 04:13:24 PM
it's the sort of "let's just start again" that i would expect from a person who hadn't really learned what the problem was

and , of course, all the bad things, they're somebody else's fault:

"They wanted that to be the story, but unfortunately you made the story about me, which was what they had tried not to have happen."

(even though she also said:

"That is why I wanted to do this event and invite you to have a time set aside just for us to talk and for you to ask me these questions so we can get out on the right foot."
)

You've made an excellent array of points which, pi the way, will strike a chord with many centrists.

Can you really call them hidden if they're so transparent that everyone but those deserving of the title H. sapeins only by merit of their genes can see it?

I recall the liberalest lib liberals at MSNBC doing a sappy, glowing "Faces of the Tea Party" in-depth story, that didn't correct any of their misconceptions, and blatant hypocrisy.

Funny, I don't recall ever seeing a "Faces of Iraq Veterans Against the War," or "Faces of the Green Party."

Bonus, one guy was wearing what appeared to be a Neo-Nazi shirt.

Is this the same Sharron Angle who thinks that the media's purpose is only to ask the types of questions she wants to answer, and that their job is to spread forth the information handed to them by Sharon Angle, the way Sharron Angle wants it to be spread?
