I'm glad Wonderfalls was on there. I thought that was a great show and I'm not even religious. A lot of the shows on the list like Baywatch (rolls eyes) should have been dropped from the list and replaced with shows like "Carnivale" or "Action". The latter one being a show way ahead of it's time. It was Entourage before there was an Entourage.

Actually, as much as I love Deadwood, if season 3 is any indication, it was canceled right on time.

Wonderfalls was a great show.

What about the show John Doe? That one was one of the all-time cliffhanger cancellations in TV history.

What about Jericho or Persons Unknown? Or Las Vegas, they needed 1 more season to tie up a lot of story lines. A Deadwood movie would have been interesting.

(1) Columbo? Baywatch? They went on farking *forever*.

(2) WTF is up with that page layout?

==============================================================

Season 4 was supposed to be the final season where everything came to a head (and thus, probably be awesome)... and the end of the season would be when deadwood burns to the frakking ground.

Screw you Milch! I wanted that!!

Freaks & Geeks?

Arrested Development ended right when it needed too.

As a series as a whole, they did a really good job with that show.

I am glad they mentioned Deadwood. Easily the best show ever cancelled too soon and usually doesn't get mentioned in these types of lists (although McShane was in Kings which was also really good). Season 3 was a bit weak, but I could see how a weaker season 3 was more like a set up for what could have been an awesome season 4.

s2s2s2: Freaks & Geeks?

it was listed. That and Wonderfalls being canceled are easily the best examples of shows canceled prematurely. Wonderfalls was especially treated like shiat by Fox.

THIS!

Also, if you've got 3 seasons under your belt, calling the cancellation "premature" is a bit of a stretch. You could argue it should've gone on longer, but 3 seasons is a pretty generous run by most standards.

The two are notable in just about every way possible: "Arrested" for reviving Jason Bateman's career, making an alternative star of David Cross, and giving the public a young Michael Cera;

Because Mr. Show didn't already do that?

Lord_Dubu: Profit.

I really wanted to like that show but it swayed from good to ridiculous in a short period of time.

jake3988: and thus, probably be awesome

OK, but Langrishe would have had to have been killed in spectacular fashion. In episode 1. In the first eight minutes.

2011-03-18 11:34:48 AM
Jericho should have been on the list. Season 1 was good and 2 could have been so much better if it wasn't rushed cause they knew they were on life support.

I'm very happy to see police squad on the list. 6 of the funniest television episodes I've ever seen.

The theater group was kind of annoying, but watching McShane and Brian Cox act off each other in their scenes was totally awesome.

Also is anyone else tired of Firefly showing up on these lists. I watched an episode or two of that show and I can totally see why it was cancelled. It was so bad, there was a pretty obvious reason it had a tiny audience and it wasn't just because of how the network handled it.

Star Trek? Did the writer of this list even see the third season.

No mention of Twin Peaks? That show had the cliffhanger to end all cliffhangers.

Season 2 of Jericho wasn't rushed because it was on life support it was rushed because the studio gave them 6 episodes to tie up all of the story lines and to give the show a end. If that show had a proper season 2 and 3 it could have been an all time great.

The Young Ones. Cancelled or not, we needed more.

NeoCortex42: No mention of Twin Peaks? That show had the cliffhanger to end all cliffhangers.

I wanted to mention this, and though I think the 2nd season is under-rated, I'm not entirely convinced they could've carried it for another season. That said, I would've loved to see some kind of closure to the show.

While I love this show as well, it wasn't cancelled early. The story ended where it needed to. The biggest gripe I am have was that they could have made 4 seasons out of what they did in the 2 seasons. Actium, which is one of the most important events in ancient Rome's history, was merely mentioned in the final episode. So much potential wasted.

2011-03-18 11:51:03 AM
Also if we are talking about a list of cartoons, Clone High should be on the top of that list.
