Dictatorial_Flair: 2wolves: Because an educated citizenry is not something the GOP truly desires.

I'd say it's more like something they fear and loathe than something they don't desire.

I'm being more sensitive to their feelings lately. They're so scared and all alone.

There, fixed that for you.

That weak deflection just proved that fatassbastard was right about you.

Fine, if you libs want to play the revisionist history game, run with it. But the fact is Obama ran on the economy, as well as the unpopularity of the wars. Hell, McCain was leading in the polls until Lehman imploded a few weeks before the election. A gift to Obama, and he ran with it. To suggest the guy was elected to fix healthcare in arguably the worst economic meltdown since the Depression is ludicrous, and is not supported by history.

So, what part of this pie is going to be defunded? Looks like NPR does not need government funding, they should let it go. They were heavily funded back in the 1970's where conservative brains are stuck, but now not so much.

Once upon a time, we didn't really need social security because when your parents and grandparents got old. You took them in and gave them a room. Family. You lived together and took care on one another. Medicare, as long as every doctor on earth is issued a Maybach after their residency, is another matter.

Houses remained in the family for generations, you had your moment in the sun and your scoreboard and salad days, but family came first.

Now we all want to be the drooling tough guy hipster / screeching arrogant c*nt on TeeVee for ten minutes while texting from someplace like Maracaibo about how shi*ty the service is at the lobster bar. Shoving everybody out of the way whop can't see that it is ALL ABOUT US.

Narcissistic, gullible entitlement whores screeching about "SOSHULISM!" because we're afraid it'll cut into our Evian budget while we kick our aged to the curb. Shame on us. Hypocrites, spoiled jerks and whiny, snotty children.

I am really looking foward to hearing the NPR article about the NPR hearings.

/Sadly, they will probably find a way to be neutral, factual, not funny or meta. Then they will all fire themselves.

How can you even make a case for NPR funding when we are running $1.4T deficits?

Because that's like reducing your household budget arguing about your XM subscription instead of ditching the second Hummer (DoD) and the timeshare in Palm Beach (SS, Medicare).

So your liberal illogic is that a household going through bankruptcy shouldn't cut monthly expenses like XM?

And it's Obama who ignored his deficit commission and took Medicare ans SS off the table. In fact, I make a 100% guarantee that Obama and his fellow Dems demagogue it to death try to get reelected in 2010, "The GOP wants to raid SS and Medicare from grandma!" and you libs will all be cheering. Puh-leeze, stop being such an intellectually dishonest fark.

A few million here, a few million there. Soon it adds up to real money. The exact reason why we are broke, liberals who don't want to cut a damned dime on anything.

Everybody knows how to fix the economy:

1. Redo the tax brackets, yes there is a difference between $250K earners and $250M earners, make tax payments reflect that huge discrepancy. And no, there isn't much difference between a $50k and $75k household, but according to our taxing system they think it's huge.

2. Cut defense spending...by a lot. We spend almost as much as the entire world COMBINED! You're telling me we can't cut the fat from here? Especially when no one wants us "policing" our way to military contractor utopia.

3. Fix the infrastructure, starting with education. A developed nation's competitive advantage lies within it's capital intensive markets, and they can't flourish without the appropriate level of human capital. This is why more and more white-collar jobs have been taken by foreign students because we aren't producing enough of our own, because our public schools and our entire education system is a HUGE sad joke.

4. Regulate the financial markets, need I explain why? Good.

None of that is ever going to done because it doesn't make the wealthy wealthier, thus they won't shower "our" politicians with ridiculous sums of money to spew nonsense like the unions are destroying our economy and trickle down economics works.

Face it, you're all powerless peasants that have no real education, knowledge nor drive to change things.
