Bob_Laublaw: That couple looks like they're a metric sh*tload of fun to hang around.

I was gonna say, that DOES look like a fun couple.

...

What, no SAPPY tag? Shame, that.

Those are pretty cool.

And #4 is just begging for a "Meanwhile, in Russia" caption.

2011-03-12 01:34:48 PM
The first one was great. The flat tire ones are cute. The b&w photo of the guy from behind with her arms around his neck is an awesome shot. The rest are just kinda creepy.

No, the photographer who directed the shoot is the fun one.

I was a wedding photographer for a long time before my current gig.

The big secret to great wedding photography is to picture the couple years from now, very near divorce and hating each other, looking back at their old wedding photos. If they cry and are miserable because they wonder what happened to that beautiful time in their life when everything was awesome, the photos are good.

Try it.

Any wedding photo you come across.

Imagine they f*cking despise each other now.

Does that make you sad?

Good photo.

That website is blocked by my work filter. So no, it isn't the funniest wedding photo session I will see all day.

I'm sure when they are 60 they will wonder why in the hell they did that.

Well, what do you mean by "fake"? They're obviously staged, but couples do have shoots like this as part of their wedding pictures.

And not all ceremonies are double-ring.. sometimes only the woman has one.

Fun fact: jewelers once tried to sell men on a "men's engagement ring." It didn't catch on. The male wedding band may have been the result of a similar, successful campaign

Dear Bump,
My divorce cost me plenty of $, my ex-husband is getting spousal support and stole a lot of things, and he's a jerk. The process took 4 years from me filing to it being final. My point is, I know it's farked up, but you have to move on. If you want to talk EIP. You have to move on. I bored friends with stories for years. Be happy instead.

Yup, they're models.

And after having dealt with several thousand insane brides and their equally insane mothers, I think I have the right to express the desire to have worked with clients that were like the people being portrayed by the models. There's a reason I no longer do paid work, and especially weddings. It's not worth the stress.

Or do you not understand the concept of wishes, hopes, dreams and desire?

What a sad little world you must occupy.

I'm possibly too cynical, but I hate shiat like this. I've been at weddings where they do stuff like this and it's usually orchestrated by some biatchy bride who is so obsessed with perfect pictures and other stuff that the whole thing becomes an ordeal in tedium.

ne2d: halfof33: ne2d: No way! I totally assumed that this photographer just so happened to find a couple that just got married and ran out of gas and got a flat tire that the woman had to fix after she got drunk in the alley and then they ate dinner with their cat and he happened to capture it all on camera.

Hee hee. Yeah, you knew they were fake the whole time...

ne2d: Those are pretty cool. And #4 is just begging for a "Meanwhile, in Russia" caption.

Well, what do you mean by "fake"? They're obviously staged, but couples do have shoots like this as part of their wedding pictures.

Although, now that you mention it, the guy isn't wearing a wedding ring...

Russians wear their wedding bands on the right hand. Took a little bit to convince my wife to wear it on the left here. I don't see any clear shots of the guy's right hand, so...

Wedding photos like that are becoming pretty popular. Have you guys ever heard of a practice "destroy the dress". Brides buy a dress and they only wear it for a day, than it's sitting in their closet for a number of years. The point is to destroy the dress by playing in mud, water or anything dirty. Pictures will be taken while the dress gets destroyed and they will have unique photos on the wall.
