You know it's been eating at his soul that the Giants won the Super Bowl the season right after he left. Question is, who would be crazy/stupid enough to hire him?

Stay with me here.

LeGarret Blount.
Cadillac Williams.
Tiki Barber.

NFC Champions?

I guess Tiki "Hands of clay" Barber didn't realize how much it would cost to support a blond-haired, blue-eyed intern.

"Interesting"? What, is the "Dumbass" tag out on vacation or something?

P.S. way to try to get back in the game the year there's going to be a work stoppage.

No. If they just stick with Blount, Cadillac, Johnson (wildcat), and maybe a random late-round pick/rookie free-agent the Bucs will be fine on RB.

Besides, Tiki turns 36 in a month and there have only been 7 100-yard seasons by a back 36 years of age or older, so I would rather like to pass on Ronde's evil twin.

He probably wants to go play in TB for 1 season, then him and Ronde will both retire and go star in a cheesy sitcom based on the wacky antics of that season starring Will Smith as Raheem Morris and John Madden as Malcom Glazer.

Its gotta eat at him that the giants won it all the year after he left.
Its gotta eat at him that his not-as-big-a-name twin brother has a ring and he doesn't.
..and its gotta eat at him that he's gonna suck, assuming someone even takes a chance on him.

2011-03-08 10:37:02 PM
Lets see...alienate my teammates by thinking about life after football instead of focusing ON the football at hand. Retire. Dump my 8 months pregnant wife for the intern, thus getting fired from my cushy TV gig under the "Morality clause", and end up broke in the divorce.

Football doesn't sound so bad now.

/guy's a douche

His not-as-big-a-name twin brother was always a better football player at a tougher position and maybe if Tiki is nice Ronde might let Tiki give Ronde's HoF induction speech.

The Raiders have two solid running backs in their prime. My money is on Dan Snyder being foolish enough to sign Barber.

And yea, this lockout could play hell with Freeman's training. Got high hopes for the team this year. Been a long time since I honestly felt that. Now if they could just lower the price of the tickets to something less insane, I might be obliged to attend.

Ronde: Form of... a bucket of water!
Tiki: Form of... an ACL tear!

Remember when all the talk about Tiki was which network would "win" by getting him to sign on as an analyst? Turns out he sucked in front of the camera, didn't want to talk sports and ended up outing himself as a huuuuuuuge dooooosh by ditching his wife (who was pregnant with twins) for a 20 year old, white intern and then it all turned to shiat? That was awesome.

Not to sound like an ass, but Tiki's ex-wife wasn't black either, so why is the fact that the woman he cheated on her with was white a big deal?

He will have less mileage on him than the average 36 year old running back. It's too bad he torched every bridge in New York on the way out... they could use him.

You are aware that the average 36 year old NFL running back is usually long retired, right?

/not everyone is Curtis Johnson (who retired well before the age of 36.)

It really is hilarious to look at the ending career arcs of both Strahan and Barber. Back in 2006 when Tiki was the golden boy, Strahan was close to being a pariah. He had his divorce situation that became way to public, got called out for berating that ESPN female reporter, and he was also being called a divisive force in the locker room.

Tiki retires, Strahan stays the extra year and wins a ring. He gets called a leader by the Giants, gets a TV series, commercials, analyst gig, and becomes the toast of the town. Tiki gets called out for having no heart and being a quitter, and then gets benched by NBC for sucking.

The only reasons Tiki could be coming back are money and/or attention.

I think it's just a ploy to get in on the benefits that the players are trying to work into the new CBA. He's probably just planning on mailing it in, but all it takes is one team taking a chance and he gets his medical stuff taken care of for life.

That is why there might not be a season this year, right? Because the players are so concerned about the retired guys, right? Right?

While they did hire the cell phone slut, that was different as they didn't have a credible starting QB. However, last time I checked they DO have a credible starting RB, along with a good back up.

The only team I can think of that might sign him is the skins.

/betting leakyTiki starts trying to "entice" teams by asking for a ridiculously high guaranteed salary.

2011-03-09 08:50:28 AM
The thing that gets me...the dude is 36. Even if he hasn't been getting beat up for the last 4 years, and even IF he can regain football shape....why sign him?

He's had fumblitis most of his career. He doesn't play both ways, or play special teams, He won't be an every down back, and there's younger/cheaper/better already on pretty much every roster for situational 3rd downers.

He won't be bringing much in terms of leadership, cause the way he went out in NY reaaaaaaally pissed off most other NFL players. So, what's the upside? Why even bother with him?

I don't see even Snyder paying for his services.

Tiki Barber ruined my Superbowl. He is a rubbish analyst and contributes nothing in terms of interesting or original thought. He is like a political activist that can only parrot talking points made by other people.

His broadcasting career turned out to be a big ole turd. His best hope is to switch to defense and shop himself around as Ronde.

See, thats the reasoning behind my thought. Whenever I played Final Fantasy 6, when you got the Earrings they worked better when you had BOTH earrings as your relics. Two Barbers? Hell we can even run trick plays where Tiki fumbles whatever Interception Ronde would've got!

Don't really want him, just think it would be a cool novelty. I'm more than happy with Blount & Cadillac's 2nd life post Gruden.

Only if Tiki demands $15 million a year and Snyder can find somebody to give a few draft picks to for him. Otherwise the evil midget will be confused.

This x infinity. Coughlin helped show him a new way to carry the football so he wouldn't fumble; his game went to another level. Tiki "thanks him" by putting him down every chance he got.

Fark him...I hope the first play from scrimmage he blows out both knees.
