(USA Today)   Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra blames the media for the crying controversy. Indeed, who could've imagined how interesting the media would find the idea of a superteam weeping after losing a game in March?   (content.usatoday.com) divider line 41

Know what? I kind of hope Miami stays the #3 seed and NY the #6 seed. How great of a first-round match-up would that be? Five all-stars on the floor. Well, okay, four all-stars and Chris Bosh.

I don't know, I think the sheer predictability of today's coverage takes precedence over how hard ESPN's running with the story. It's blatantly, ridiculously obvious ESPN would do that. How could you not see that coming?

Way to deflect the attention away from your sorry-ass coaching job.

Seriously, if you've got 3 superstars and you can't put away good teams, something stinks, and it's probably the coach, judging by the crappy defensive performance.

Even Magic, Worthy, and Kareem needed a very talented supporting cast.

Lebron, Wade, and Bosh need to go to a team that can put a supporting cast and decent coach around them. How much can three guys do?

If you go by this season, not very much apparently. Just take up alot of money and piss away the fanbase as they miserably fail.

The report I saw said it was Mike Miller and some other nobody on the team. It's Miller's fault they lost because he made a stupid pushing foul trying to get a rebound off of a free-throw that gave the Bulls two more free-throw to win the game.

Yeah, because all superstars love to be coached, right? You can draw up the best defenses in the league, but it doesn't do much good if nobody plays defense. And the coach doesn't get to drag a ladder onto the court and place the ball in the basket for them at the end of close games either.

Apparently not as good as one of them alone could do. All three did better on their own, surrounded by a bunch of "scrubs" than they are doing together.

The Cavs last year, with LeBron and LeBron alone had a better record than the Heat can hope to attain this season.

Lebron chose the Heat because it would be the most fun.

LeBron, Bosh, and Wade were supposed to be the New World Order, circa 1996. But now, I'm finding out they're the New World Order, circa 1999.

This is hilarious.

""I do chuckle a little bit when they complain about the scrutiny they get," said the ex-Heat coach. "My suggestion would be if you don't want the scrutiny, you don't hold a championship celebration before you've even practiced together. It's hard to go out yourself and invite that kind of crowd and celebration and attention, and then when things aren't going well, sort of bemoan the fact that you're getting that attention.""

You say that as if the Heat actually had a fanbase to begin with, before LeBron came to town.

Name one All-Star the Celtics have ever fielded. One. One. The only Celtics I can think of are Tony Allen and Dee Brown. They weren't All-Stars and they were probably the best players in the history of the organization. Boston is a joke.

In all seriousness, if Brian Scalabrine drained the game winning three pointer against the Celtics at the Garden, how do you think the home crowd would react?

Cleveland had a better 'team' than the Heat do.

It was Wade who was crying.

LeBron does not WANT the ball for the last shot, coach. Why are you trying to force the issue? I mean, I'm glad you are, but you're just shooting yourself in the foot.

2011-03-08 02:27:02 PM
Mike & Mike played audio of the Heat's many misses during crunch time set to Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me a River." It was delicious.

Very much so. I would bump it to 2000, though - nWo Elite, nWo Silver and Black is more fitting, you know? All star lineup, but went nowhere.
