i wonder what the IQ of your average republican state senator is. i don't know - but i'm pretty sure it would make me weep for the future of humanity.

oh, and thanks for making government smaller by introducing legislation to ban something already specifically banned by the first amendment.

I for one am absolutely surprised by this. Next you'll tell me people in favor of the public display of the Decalogue can't name the commandments.

I've always wanted to ask some of the people you hear constantly screaming about "Socialism!!" to define it. My guess is that 9 out of 10 would have absolutely no idea. But they know it's bad.

I don't think they're all actually that dumb. They're just willing to throw out any shred of dignity or honor in pursuit of power.

If I didn't have a conscience, I'd be a billionaire.

Don't worry, he stole the definition from Wikipedia word for word.

The only thing dimmer than this miserable excuse for a human being is the knuckle draggers that voted for him. Another proud moment for democracy in amurica.

Not knowing what it is didn't stop 70% of the voters here from voting to make it illegal. All they knew was it was somehow related to brown people.

Next, let's try to ban the Catholic's Ecclesiastical Tribunal, and the Jewish rabbinical courts.

"GOPer can't define, but wants to ban, sharia law"

Typical idiot Republicans trying to ban things they are ignorant of through uneducated fear.

For your education on sharia law, I believe it is a shoulder thing that goes up.

Okay, what's your point? I'm willing to bet you that most liberals could not give me a dictionary definition for taxes but they want to raise those, too. Liberals have to understand that intelligence goes beyond books and memorization. Intelligence is about how good you can answer a question. The Republican state senator was ambushed and did not have time to answer the question. That is all. He simply chose not to because no matter what he would have said, the liberal reporter would have taken his words out of context and smeared him in the New York Times. Fools. Maybe when you grow up and stop attacking people of other ideologies through the internet with little repercussion for your actions, you will understand how the real world works. But then again, you're all liberals. You will never understand.

Yup. As an atheist I don't want to see any religion influencing the legal system, but the First Amendment does as much as we need. Singling out Sharia law is just throwing meat to the bigots. Can we pass a law banning Christian influence too?

I think we should get right to work on banning the oppressive laws of Omicron Persei 8. You know, because they have as much chance of being applied in the States as does Sharia law.

The one that includes "Thou Shalt not playeth thy portable music device so loud that others may hereth it".

Moses was rather confused about that one, since Walkmans, let alone iPods had not yet been invented yet.

It's funny how the article never specifically states what he said other than the very tail end of it. If they are going to write a smear article, they need to put in a little more fact.

Oh wait, this is America, facts dont matter in political smear campaigns...

WTF would you expect from a state that has more inbreeding than Virginia?

How about we ban all religious law in criminal matters?

As for civil ones, if you want to agree to religious arbitration, then hey, i'm cool with it, so long as everyone consents and you pay your court fees.

What a ridiculous thought. Hell in the US, the right doesn't want to elect those smart 'elite' types. For a president they wanted a drinking buddy.

2011-03-07 07:08:45 PM
Well, at least for once a senator's ignorance didn't hurt us. And there's no place for sharia law in a generally civilized society.

This is what I am talking about. It does not matter if I used proper English. Proper English is if people understand me. Proper English is if they get the point of what I am trying to make. You eggheads would not know this. You eggheads in academia judge each other by tests and papers. The real world is not tests and papers. It is smart and dumb. And eggheads are dumb.
