Gotta hand it to her. To put that level of incompetence and ignorance on display against a guy as sharp as Weiner is brave.

Wait, is she supposed to be "news" or "opinion"? Help me out, teabaggers.

Wendy's Chili: Wait, is she supposed to be "news" or "opinion"? Help me out, teabaggers.

Can't you see how pretty and blond she is? Look at that nasty New York Democrat being mean to her. What the hell does HE know about anything? He's from New York City, and I think he's Jewish.

She shouldn't have to put up with that. Clearly, she is in the right, because she makes me pants feel funny.

Kelly's not as good with the Fox MO as say, O'Reilly or Beck.

I wonder if it's a sexism thing. Like how Boehner could get away with crying at everything. Pelosi'd be mocked mercilessly if she did that.

Regardless of her gender, Kelly's not equipped to up against the guy who thought Guam could tip over, let alone Rep. Weiner.

Weiner is gunning for Mayor. Fox giving him the spotlight probably helps to get him out of the House but I am pretty sure it won't be a Repub replacing him

So a FOX News "journalist" is defending Thomas?

Fair and Balanced.

What the fark was that? She brought Weiner on just to yell at him for half the "interview"?

Mercutio74: What the fark was that? She brought Weiner on just to yell at him for half the "interview"?

It's the new 'reverse scissor' style of interview: you slam two assholes together for a few minutes and everybody loses.

2011-03-03 10:26:40 AM
WEINER: "This is the way interviews work. You ask questions and I get to answer."
KELLY: "Oh, thank you. That's helpful."

I don't think she really meant that.

He seems to not like lies phrased like a statement at the end of his answers. She probably could have saved the interview by phrasing her Fox bullet points in the form of a question and allowing him to answer. You know, like a professional journalist does.

If you look at the tradition of interviewing a hostile subject who will not, under any circumstances say "This interview is over" (and that's what you get with politicians who have an axe to grind) you can challenge them all you want, but you have to do it in a forum where they feel they get to answer your questions not have an interview going the the pattern of:

Question
Answer
Questioner's Rebuttal
Next Question

I don't understand why a democrat would go on the propaganda arm of the republican party, to the right wing loons that watch it you are not going to gain their favor regardless and to the moderates that watch it you are going to come off bad because that is fox's intention when you come on.

Feeds the Fox narrative, though. Unfortunately, Fox is a no-win situation. You go on, they're hostile. You don't go on, they say you're afraid.

I can't believe how quietly we've allowed bullying to become a news reporting norm. There's a difference between aggressive journalism and this farce that is Fox News.

Eh. Hard to be classy. I have a really short fuse for ignorance, especially proud, willful ignorance. It's always been a problem.

Weiner was very specific and clear about the problem. She dodged it and acted biatchy, like she always does. There is nothing good about what she does or who she is.

I look at it this way. A Fox news watcher isn't going to vote Dem, no matter what. However, people other than Fox news watchers watch the program and seeing an interview conducted like this, unprofessionally and with inaccurate and weaselly asides (my friend who's a supreme court expert sez), looks at Weiner and thinks... hey, that guy's really good. He's a Dem with a farking backbone and the intellect to actually stand up to the right wing machine.

I've always like Weiner. (That's pretty quoteable, isn't it?) And I'm happy that the voice of reason in the House isn't meek and subservient. It's farking pissed off and makes a good point.

I'm sure in Nancy Grace's case if she was anywhere near competent as a lawyer it would be more lucrative than whatever she does at CNN.

I mean, she's no Ann Coulter.

Diogenes: Feeds the Fox narrative, though.

Yea, but that's self sustaining anyway. A healthy diet of shiat stomping Fox anchors could be a needed moral boost to the Democratic base -- whether the 'debate' is won or lost.

Republicans have fully harnessed the possibilities of ostensive conflict. Democrats don't feel threatened enough to turn out the number of voters Republicans routinely do -- which is compounded by the fact Democratic registration is much higher than Republican registration.

Complacency needs to be shaken.

They're playing dumb for the audience. Take Gretchen Carlson.

pilotventures.net

Says things on air like "I just wanted to see how much of an insult it was to be called an 'ignoramus' since I didn't know what it meant, I just Googled it. It's an 'ignorant lawyer'! We all know Barack Obama is a lawyer, so Chavez was saying he was an ignorant lawyer."

So you think: dumb as a stump, right?

Yet it's hard to hide such a celebrated past as hers. A high school valedictorian and Stanford University student who had also studied at Oxford University in England. Miss Minnesota in 1988. Miss America in 1989. And after serving as Miss America, she returned to Stanford where she graduated with honors.

And for the talent portion of the beauty pageants, she played classical violin. Specifically, she played "Zigeunerweisen" by Pablo Martín Melitón de Sarasate y Navascués.
