If you're so fed up with Cutler, we'll take him in exchange for Jimmy Clausen and Matt Moore.

2011-03-01 05:07:36 PM
No, he just sucks. Geez, the simplest explanation is best, folks. Go back to being in love with him so I can make fun of you instead of being angry at him for sh*t that you shouldn't be mad about.

Is he a sh*tty leader? Yes.
Is he an overrated quarterback? Yes.
Is he a crybaby when it comes to commenting on others' behavior? Yes.
Can he be criticized for quitting mentally, sitting on the bench by himself for an extended stretch of the third quarter? Sure, but it's understandable to be upset about not being able to finish the only conference title game you'll make in your career.

Did he quit on the team physically? Nah. So quit criticizing him for that.

No, he's just a run-of-the-mill Chicago QB failure.

All I know is that he is NOT addicted to winning.

I'm starting to hope Jay Cutler breaks records just to piss off his detractors.

Well, his unreasonable detractors.

I'm convinced that all tough questions like this should be propounded by naked reporters streaking through restaurant parking lots.

Most of you don't recall, but this is a proud journalistic tradition dating back to the Watergate scandal, when Carl Bernstein discovered Liddy's involvement with the Plumbers while running through the parking lot of a Shoney's Big Boy in Bethesda, Md. while wearing nothing more than a tube sock over his wang.

They confirmed that Cutler was injured with a ACL or MCL sprain in his knee. As someone who recently sprained both I can tell you that he did not give up. At the time that it happened, there was a brief moment of pain, then nothing for about an hour. Then the pain started building, and got very intense. You can walk on it with minimum pain, but try to run, post off of it, or change directions suddenly with it, and your on the ground. I am 3 weeks removed from injuring my knee, and it still stiffens up and gets extremely painfull in the night.

So Jay Cutler sucking means he gave up? If he gave up in that game then he's given up in every game of his career save for the previous couple weeks.

That means Chris Bosh gave up like a motherfarker against the Bulls. Nice.

But I'd bet you aren't a trained professional athlete? I'm not either and have never had those injuries and wanted to give Cutler the benefit of the doubt. Then I thought about guys who played with broken ribs, broken feet etc. Hell, Al Harris wanted to play with a ruptured spleen. I base my opinion on that ethos. Cutler was in the biggest game of his life and he punted, so to speak. Didn't Brees play with the same injury most of the season? Tape it up, brace it up, shoot it up and get back in there.

Me? I'd collapse and cry like a soccer player who was knocked down by a stiff breeze.

If you want to start recalling IAmRight's bogus pronouncements regarding Cutler you may want to get checked for carpal tunnel; it's a long list.

poughdrew: cybernia: Didn't Brees play with the same injury most of the season?

No, not the same degree of sprain.

We never found out what degree it was - Brees and Sean Payton refused to answer after Heath Evans described him playing with it for the same timeframe a Grade II would need to recover, that's all. Not to mention that Cutler happened to have the most severe sprain possible without requiring surgery. Just pointing that out.
