mrmustard11: Phil Herup: There is only like one person ordering all the signs for the pro-union morans.

Don't you ever get tired of being an idiot?

So all those matching signs are made by individuals?

Sorry the truth makes you lash out and ridicule, it is a common occurrence here from libs who are forced to look at reality.

tenpoundsofcheese: Stop right there. I could do all of that, but I DON'T want to belong to the union. Period.

Being forced to be part of a Union for a job I want is wrong.

Let me ask you this then... why do you want to have a job where you're paid less, generally have fewer benefits and lack any meaningful legal protection from your employer just to avoid being part of a union?

/Isn't it weird that "a union" sounds right but technically it should be "an union"?

Didn't take long to Godwin this thread.

No one's forcing you to do anything... You're free to go get a job at a non-union company.

I don't agree with mandatory piss-testing, therefor I don't apply for jobs that require piss-tests.

As the Teapublicans inch closer to defeat on this issue their desperation becomes more apparent, their rhetoric more shrill. This was supposed to be a slam dunk, an easy first step on the road to one party rule. The refusal of public employee unions to let themselves be indentured in the name of fiscal responsibility was surprise no. 1, the support of the thoughtful and well-meaning people of Wisconsin extremely unexpected and unpleasant surprise no. 2. This was the Right's big chance to redefine democracy in the United States. They totally misread the will of the people and are now desperate to claw some sort of victory, any sort, from a serious debacle.

The GOP could still win if the Democrats waver, but the cost of defeat is now so great for the Dems, the benefits of compromise so slight, it's difficult to see how they could step away from a principled defense of their rights as workers and as human beings. Nevertheless, since it's Democrats we're talking about here, the possibility certainly exists--and that's why Gov. Walker stubbornly pursues this lost cause.

Funny story, I know a couple in the US... the dude works a warehouse job where he has to use a forklift, the woman is a nurse. The nurse got piss tested once when she started her job and never again, the guy has to submit to frequent and random urinalysis.

Guess which one's in a union.

Too bad these Teabaggers can't put the same amount of effort into finding out where all that "lost" money went in Iraq or why Wall Street crooks aren't in jail yet.

Why does Fuq'er Carlson attract this kind of Nana Booboo type of shyt. Who ever the assholes are who have nothing better to do with their time than track some Democrats and harass them, for what the Dems feel are principled stands of civil disobedience is just...dickish.(more likely they are in the paid employ of of KockBros.)

Funny how, as the working folks of America actually start paying attention , the Dems, Unions, Worker/teacher/public safety groups seem to be winning the argument. The GOP can only seem to win by hidden and misleading messaging to their voters. From Nixon thru Reagan and both Bushes, the illegal or just plain misleading bullshyt has been their stock in trade.

They certainly can't win on the merits of their issues.

LouDobbsAwaaaay: quoinguy: Walker is going to get what is needed, one way or the other. The next two-year budget cycle is projected to have a $3.2 billion deficit--the same budget put together by Democratic former-Gov Doyle and his cronies. Huge cuts are needed because states are forbidden to carry deficits like the Feds.

If these AWOL Senators don't come back, mass layoffs are coming--versus keeping all the jobs possible at reduced rates.

Nice job showboaters, you just increased the unemployment rate in the state.

Actually, Walker has repeatedly refused to listen to any compromise on his position, and is set to piss away another $165M of taxpayer money on his continuing tirade. Don't like our fiscal situation? Blame Walker. The Dems offered a plan to fix the situation and Walker ignored it. The unions offered to take all necessary cuts to benefits and Walker ignored it. Walker owns this disaster.

/And collective bargaining isn't a right. It's a perk of the job when times are good. How many internet white knights here actually know that?

If this were true, it wouldn't require an act of the state legislature to revoke these "perks". How many internet teabag warriors here actually know that?

/We also have a constitutional right to be present in the capitol, but Walker ignores the state constitution as well.

Dude, how dumb are you? A legal ability to do something does not make it a right. You have a legal avenue to get a driver's license and drive on public roads, but it is not a right. Me thinks you misunderstand the concept of "right" versus "ability".

Ah, yeah, makes sense now... Late in the day for me, sorry.

I image it would be far more than the employer is willing to pay, at any rate. I wonder how much money they waste with all those random piss tests, as well?

DrD'isInfotainment: They certainly can't win on the merits of their issues.

That sums up several decades of why the GOP does what it does. If the middle class actually realized what conservative policies are intended to do, the GOP would be a fringe party.

Fart_Machine: Phil Herup: These pathetic professional left wing protesters and their perfect signs are just so contrived and pathetic.

Why do you hate people who can spell?

You would think with all the money the teabaggers got from the Koch brothers they could have hired a few teachers to check spelling for them!

According to that Universal Declaration of Rights Article 23, I should be.

PowerSlacker: Reagan had his flaws for sure, but he busted inflation, got people back to work, and busted up the Warsaw Pact. Not bad for a do-nothing Republican.

Carter nominated Paul Volcker and was a one-term President because of it. Reagan shouldn't get credit for something that helped elect him in the first place. Inflation coming under control is a major reason why "people got back to work".

Reagan appointed Calvin Coolidge reborn Greenspan.

Barbigazi: propasaurus: Daily Caller is publishing fanfic now?

I came upon the Wisconsin State Senator at the Ramada in pool, his back hair glistening and wet. I watched him as he lifted his girth from the pool. He turned in my direction swim trunks clinging to his member. I unzipped my pants. There would be a teabagging today, a teabagging neither of us would forget.

This is fantastic ... finally my state is getting recognition for political fallout that has NOTHING to do with our own elected crooks.

By the way to anyone wondering, yes they were hiding in Rockford. Nobody goes to Rockford to "visit" or "stay". The place is falling apart, literally, and you have to commit at least 3 drug or crimes of violence before it is legal to be out past 8pm.

+1 for the water park north of town. that place is pretty cool

What have the republicans/conservatives actually ever gotten accomplished to improve this country? I really would like to know the basis of their political support. So please, anyone who is a republican supporter, would you give me some examples of policies that you support or think were successful?

/difficulty: Abraham Lincoln excluded. Let's hear some examples from the past several decades.

The problem with liberals is their constant biatching, I now want Walker to win just to watch the panties twist further. Normally I'd look at the situation objectively and try to come to a conclusion based on looking at both sides but here I just want to see Democrats lose.

Yes and no. They are layoffs to save money so the positions will not be refilled. Some might be re hired at lower wages, but starting salary for teachers in Wisconsin now is about 23K/year, so unless they pay significantly less I don't think that they will rehire. If you want to work a full time job for 15K per year and no benefits, and you have a degree, let me know, you can do mine and I'll keep the rest for myself.

Obstruction by Republicans because Republicans refuse to compromise: good.

Obstruction by Democrats because Republicans refuse to compromise: bad.
