So, the City government is unhappy, and they call up Miró to ask him what to do. His first question to them is "what color is the paint?" He told them to leave the paint; they cleaned it up anyway.

I heard this story on MPR yesterday and got a good chuckle when they said the MIA wanted to keep the sign vandlazied. Good on them.

I need to get back down there again. They have some great works of Chinese art. One particular piece is from the Han dynasty, and that just makes me appreciate the fact that I, a midwestern boy, can see in person a piece of art from China's cultural renaissance from almost 2000 years ago.

Yeah, the museum nailed it on this one. Nobody who is angrily trying to censor something is going to make jokes or try to make it look like proper clothing. They'll just paint over everything below the neck.

My wife restored an old painting of the holy family - at some point (like a few hundred years ago), a more modest restorer had added a sort of sash to cover the immaculate willy. Abbie had to remove the sash and repaint Jesus's penis. Which, by the way, would be a great band name.

Why is it that all Renaissance boobies look weird? Most of the women in the paintings look like men who've had grapefruits bolted to their chests.
