(Cinema Blend)   How could Nicolas Cage's Drive Angry get even more ludicrous? The movie's title comes from the scene in Groundhog Day where Bill Murray...oh, you know what I'm talking about   (cinemablend.com) divider line 133

I really wish someone would stop that guy from spending money so he can stop making movies.

Bill Murray didn't have a weave, though.

But Bill Murray was advising against driving angry!

Here's what I can't figure out. Is Nicholas cage serious at this point? Or is he mocking himself? I can't tell either way. Is there a Poe's law for Bad actors?

Anyone mention how we hope he kills himself with a toaster?

I'd rather have a coffee with Ned Ryerson than watch that turd of a movie.

It's not great but looks better than Ghost Rider.

Groundhog Day on the other hand is one of the best movies ever made.

My argument, valid?

Does Bill Murray make a cameo in Drive Angry? A Bill Murray cameo will always make a bad film more enjoyable.

I have not seen him in a truly bad movie. I keep expecting him to suck horribly, and keep coming away from the actual movie having enjoyed myself greatly.

So far I think I either prefer him in Matchstick Men or Bad Lieutenant

If you'd read the article you would see he said "During a scene in which Murray's character, Phil Connors, steals the groundhog known as Punxsutawney Phil and while letting the little rodent drive offers up a little bit of advice: "Don't drive angry, don't drive angry." Cut off the "don't" and you have yourself a movie title."

Come to think of it, the only "action movie" of his I've liked was The Rock, which hinged on him being a total pussy who has to put that aside to win the day and with Sean Connery being the actual hardass.

So I liked the National Treasure movies where he's playing a nerd who just happens to have adventures.

I'll credit him this one too, though he was playing an obsessive father bent on revenge and not some hardass bent on revenge.

Is the Fark hatred of Nic Cage based on how often he is miscast? He seems to be a lot more enjoyable when they aren't casting him in a role that would have gone to pre-media freakout Tom Cruise.

I hope no one in this forum was cursed enough to have to watch that 'season of the witch' movie he made. I might hate nick cage for that now.

also: I really wish someone would stop that guy from spending money so he can stop making movies.

His action movies suck but Raising Arizona is one of the greatest movies ever.

My roommates and I are attempting to watch every Nic Cage movie.

Underratedish movies:

Kiss of Death is a pretty standard crime action/drama thing starting David Caruso pretending to be tough. It's nothing spectacular, but pretty well done the whole way through. And Nic Cage does what he does best, which is be ridiculous.

Vampire's Kiss is pretty terrible, but damn near the whole thing is Nic Cage going crazy. Which is worth seeing.

Also, there's Zandalee. Which is terrible, but you can't miss an "erotic thriller" starring Cage and Judge Reinhold. Be prepared to see a lot of Judge's ass.

After you're done with Cage, try Connery. Zardoz is a wonderful palate cleanser of a movie, it will leave you purged of all negative emotion, filled with light and happiness, and ready to take on the world.

I wonder what would happen if Nicholas Cage and Keanu Reeves were to make a movie together.

Nothing. That's what. A lot of nasal sounds and open mouths.
