How's about a thread on Adam Wainright's probable Tommy Johns surgery? That's a heart-breaker for the Cardinals.

Dempster is a miserable street to drive on, I know that much. It's like Skokie and Evanston are making it so that people never visit.

And homes up there will run you over $400K, and that just for a run-down shanty with shag carpeting. For the same money you could get a pimp-ass condo near the loop or on the north side.

What an awesome week for the Cards. Pujols rejects the extension, and seven days later their best starter in 2010 blows out his elbow. Someone better keep Musial away from any potential falling objects.

The crazy thing is, as long as Wainwright didn't end the season on the DL, his options for 2012 & 2013 would become guaranteed. Instead, now the team has to decide to pick them both up, or let him become a FA after this season.

Avoid Skevanston at all costs, kind of like Schaumburg.

Also, good for Dempster - he deserves it.

Read it was a ligament injury. Thought TJ was only for tendons. Not that I, well, know anything.

No, Evanston is nothing like Schaumburg.

1/2 is ghetto as hell
1/2 is a bunch of annoying college students and rich folks
No bars

Schaumburg may be annoying to those who hate the burbs, but is a nice place to live. Unkless you don't want clean streets, good schools, jo(r)bs and relatively low crime. I do avoid Woodfield at all costs.

Tommy John surgery is a ligament replacement surgery for the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL), where they typically take a superfluous tendon from your wrist and put it in place of your torn UCL.

At least they're playing the Pirates.

Schaumberg is fine but has it's fair share of snobs as well. Woodfield mall is Hell on Earth. I once saw a bouncer denying people access to Banana Republic there.

Zambrano's six opening day starts:
2005: 4.2 IP 3R 7H 4BB 8K Cubs win 16-6 @ Arizona
2006: 4.2 IP 5R 7H 5BB 5K Cubs win 16-7 @ Cincy
2007: 5.0 IP 5R 6H 5BB 2K Cubs lose 5-1 @ Cincy
2008: 6.2 IP 0R 3H 1BB 5K Cubs lose 4-3 vs. Milwaukee
2009: 6.0 IP 1R 5H 3BB 6K Cubs win 4-2 @ Houston
2010: 1.1 IP 8R 6H 2BB 1K Cubs lose 16-5 @ Atlanta

Total ERA: 6.98

As a whole, his opening day starts have been miserable. I see no problem with this move.

Good. Zambrano's a better pitcher when the pressure is off. Opening day or against the White Sox, good chance of a meltdown. Neutral city against the Astros, no-hitter. Game 2 of 162 against the Pirates at home sounds to me like a run on five hits over 7.

I was at the meltdown game, but my seats were right above the Cubs' dugout so I couldn't see anything. However, I think my ultimate favorite was the game where someone tried to steal a lady's purse, and a group of guys - Sox and Cubs fans - joined forces to kick his ass.

Never a dull moment at the Crosstown Classic!

Dammit-Hi: How's about a thread on Adam Wainright's probable Tommy Johns surgery? That's a heart-breaker for the Cardinals.

Wainwright was having some arm trouble at the end of last year, but nothing was done, other than benching him for his last start. The medical staff for the Cardinals is a joke, and has been for years. This just underscores their ineptitude(Barry Weinberg, the head trainer, was demoted in the off-season). Also, Carp hasn't been right for a while, either. I'm just waiting for his arm to tank, too. And there's Kyle Lohse....
Add this to the uncertainty of David Freese's ankles, the loss of Freese's "insurance policy", Nick Punto, for 8-12 weeks, and a gimpy Puma in RF, and it stacks up as just another disappointing season for us Cardinal fans. I wouldn't blame Pujols at all for bolting at the end of the season.

/pissed? damn right I am

I grew up in Morton Grove, so i'm getting a kick out of these replies.

The Cubs' starting rotation is pretty damn good over 162 games, but I hate having to depend on them in a three game series in the postseason.

Not that I've had to worry about that recently.

Amen to that. Morton Grove, Skokie, Niles, Evanston... ugh... I would rather watch a Cubs game then drive down that god awful road.
