2001-10-18 10:45:38 AM
You think Rupert Murdoch could find a more humane way to win in the ratings.

2001-10-18 10:46:03 AM
this is getting crazy........

2001-10-18 10:50:42 AM
Yeah but it's not all that surprising. For the life of me I couldn't think of a reason why ABC and NBC would get some but not CBS.

2001-10-18 10:53:01 AM
"News FLash" I read this about 2 hours ago... :) I just hope Rush Limbaugh gets his, otherwise I might start to think Bush is spreading this......

2001-10-18 10:53:27 AM
Hmmm...the only conservative news outlet remains unscathed.

"This business is out of control. It is out of control and we'll be lucky to live through it."

-Sen. Fred Thompson's character in "Hunt For Red October"

Bone up on your Chaos Theory, everyone. The dominoes are toppling.

Did you know that Bill O'Reilly's address at the Fox News Channel is: 1211 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10036?

that's from the satire post of questions posed to Osama.. ;)

Fred Thompson rules. Thompson for Prez!

2001-10-18 11:03:42 AM
Not that WB and Fox don't deserve it but I doubt they are seen to rank high enough on the 'news' totem pole to be worth the trouble.

2001-10-18 11:07:14 AM
Man... What a world.

I'm building an ark, loading it w/ two hot 20 something girls from every race, plenty of beer, and then I'm turning the hose, faucet, and shower on full boar.

Lame assed terrorists.

2001-10-18 11:07:27 AM
Fred Thompson was perhaps the ultimate "That Guy". When he delivered the Republican response to one of Clinton's State of the Union speeches, millions of Americans exclaimed "Hey, it's That Guy!"

2001-10-18 11:08:39 AM
On the news totem pole, it would seem that CNN and the Fox News Channel would be next, followed by CNBC and MSNBC, then the Bloomberg News Services (after all, Bloomberg is running for NYC mayor this year), although I don't wish this upon anyone.

2001-10-18 11:09:48 AM
Yes, please, somebody infect Bill O'Reilly and Shepard Smith with some high grade anthrax. What the hell kind of name is Shepard?!

2001-10-18 11:09:48 AM
The CDC is going to announce another Positive case shortly, for a total of six confirmed.

2001-10-18 11:11:31 AM
Hmm...CNN bagged an interview with Bin Laden, and still has yet to be hit with Anthrax. It's a C-O-N spiracy.

Things that make you go HMMMMMMMM

let me guess, simp. you're one them southern folk.

2001-10-18 11:17:40 AM
When are they going to get to Rush Limbaugh and Dr. Laura?

2001-10-18 11:19:40 AM
They only test if it's suspected. The other networks might have gotten hit and don't know it yet. The spooky part of this scare is "who is going to get hit and not know to begin taking the Cipro?"

2001-10-18 11:20:53 AM
true journalism garbage would be the New York Post

Liz
2001-10-18 11:21:31 AM
What about UPN and the WB?

2001-10-18 11:22:07 AM
You know if they keep antraxing all the news sources, somewhere down the line drew's gonna get hit.

2001-10-18 11:23:20 AM
You know who i think is speadin' all the thrax, the guys who make the Cipro.

2001-10-18 11:24:34 AM

2001-10-18 11:25:53 AM
Your're correct and obviously well-informed, nick. No propaganda er, news organization stands so tall as Rupert Murdoch's FNC. And the WSJ, now there's some solid, unbiased reporting. Sheesh.

2001-10-18 11:28:00 AM
J777D...It's an inside joke... C.O.N.spiracy

By the way I am Southern Mr.Cheecago.

2001-10-18 11:28:48 AM
Hey nick, I bet you didn't know that NewsMax is actually the information arm of the ACLU and Rush is being considered for a Pulitzer for HIS cutting edge work

2001-10-18 11:30:28 AM
Freddiemiles ....whats really funny is tht you think the others are real journalism? Gimme a break.

2001-10-18 11:31:42 AM
I take it the FBI/CIA has already done tests to check the saliva on the back of those stamps. Lets take DNA samples of every one in the world and catch the mofos that are doing this.

Flarkey

2001-10-18 11:32:10 AM
The WSJ and NY Times/Washington Post actually provide very solid, unbiased reporting. It's their editorial pages that give you a slant on things.

If you want a biased right wing rag, drop a quarter in the Washington Times machine. Go Moonies!

2001-10-18 11:35:55 AM
Public executions for all individual caught sending anthrax letters.

jph
2001-10-18 11:36:26 AM
The WSJ may be biased, but they're accurate.

2001-10-18 11:37:08 AM
All this Anthraxing is not gonna go away until they remove the little anthrax vile from the beginners chemistry sets they sell at toys-r-us. I mean sure a few kids will miss out on the chance to mix anthrax, nitro glycerin and water together and make there own silly-putty, but its a sacrifice we'll have to make.

2001-10-18 11:42:34 AM
WageSlave: Not that WB and Fox don't deserve it but I doubt they are seen to rank high enough on the 'news' totem pole to be worth the trouble.

Do you think the Weekly World News was a more credible source of news?

2001-10-18 11:57:20 AM

Actually Farkers, isn't it more intriguing that CNN (rather than FOX News) hasn't shown any signs of Anthrax contamination?

CNN is probably way higher on the infamous 'news totem pole' than FOX since CNN is a WorldWide source of TV news, much moreso than FOX, which actually doesn't even get into half of America's TV's (but still kicks CNN's ass on a semi-regular basis since people are tired of the same old spin CNN and the Networks put on things.

C-Pod for short ....

2001-10-18 12:04:51 PM
Anybody who thinks Fox New's Laurie Dhue isn't a world class journalist is just wrong. She reeks journalism. Support the fourth estate from the likes of Christiane Anampour, Leslie Stahl and that Greenspan's ball and chain, Andrea Mitchell. Whats with that anyway? money or power?

2001-10-18 12:04:57 PM
Jaygerson: Tabloids got hit, too, in FL. I guess they started at the bottom of the totem pole.

Longs as I gots my Fark 'n Onion, I'm happy. Stay safe, guys!

2001-10-18 12:07:27 PM
now we are hoping for specific people to get infected?

YOU ARE farkING SICK and totally without feeling......
(and I still wouldn't wish you asshole to get it.)

this is really sad... you people need help....

I weep for the future....

2001-10-18 12:09:03 PM

Then again - CNN is the only network that refused to NOT show bin Laden's Video releases, which the US Government believes contains possible hidden messages to other dormant terrorist cells in the US and elsewhere.

And CNN has landed an interview with bin Laden, I heard somewhere in the postings?

Maybe CNN is behind the Anthrax Ratings Conspiracy and not FOX, as Simpman alludes to ....

HMMMMMMM...........

C-Pod for short

2001-10-18 12:09:13 PM
You'd think the people would learn not to open suspicious envelopes.

Is there some sort of scanning device that could be used to scan envelopes?

2001-10-18 12:10:01 PM
Also Lynn Russell of CNN ain't bad but she's getting a little long in the tooth, still an acceptable and truly qualified journalist. She's got the voice of a scotch drinker and what a brain.

Anaesthetized Cephalopod:

My guess is that (assuming the Anthrax is coming from al-Qaeda) bin Laden doesn't want to anger the network he's depending upon to deliver his message to the people. CNN is in cahoots with al Jazeera, the Arabic news network.

2001-10-18 12:11:47 PM
People on Anthrax st wanna change the street name. But i dont see how that was ever a good name?

2001-10-18 12:13:29 PM
c-pod, your actually right. Although I might point out that CNN has a working arrangement with Al Jazeera that may exempt them. But if that were the basis of the exemption, it would tend to rule OUT domestic sources. I just don't know at this point. What really makes me wonder is the Planned Parenthood mailings...

2001-10-18 12:15:57 PM
Flarkey,

There were no stamps on the letters. The terrorists used pre-stamped envelopes that you buy at the post office.

The CDC just announced that a postal worker in Trenton, NJ (where the Brokaw and NY Times letters were mailed) has tested positive for exposure to anthrax.

2001-10-18 12:16:26 PM
We sure are lucky no terrorists at the IRS sent anything out with our tax relief checks...except for our budget surplus...that much cash could have bought a lot of Cipro.

2001-10-18 12:17:21 PM
It was also announced that an official in Kenya has tested positive for exposure for anthrax after receiving a letter postmarked from Atlanta, GA.

2001-10-18 12:21:39 PM
O.K., not an official in Kenya, but a business man, but still.
