When I was a teenager, I was picking at a zit on my cheek one day. Pulled off the scab, looked at it on my finger, and then it started walking. There were another dozen in my hair.

Goddam facial ticks!

People have facial ticks? Why aren't they using the powder? Does it cause facial tics?

I cannot wait for this technology to be perfected. But until it is there is no way in hell I'm letting them crack open my skull to install the device no matter how much I would love to live OCD free.

Ghastly, they have drills now. The big nutcrackers went out sometime around WWI. Big, twisty, sharp-pointed drills. That make a high-pitched whine.

I don't trust this new technology.

I'm not concerned with military history from that perspective, but I do appreciate the reference. Gave me some diversion...

Anyway - yes, my brain did arrive in a FedEx box, and was left on my doorstep in the hot sun all afternoon. Worse still, the instructions were diagrammatic, and apparently notated in Farsi. That's why I have to wear the turban.

My wife has a neurological disorder called Dystonia that causes the muscles to contract involuntarily, which often twists her into painful contortions. She is scheduled for Deep Brain Stimulation on April 6th to alleviate some (hopefully most) of the symptoms of her Dystonia. It's exciting to see major press on it.

Check out ShakeyAmy.org (new window) to learn about Dystonia and/or Shakey Amy's journey.

I know some of you guys aren't into the whole "caring about people I don't know" thing, and that's cool. If so, go do your own virtual Deep Brain Stimulation Procedure HERE! (new window) It's INCREDIBLY fascinating, and it's kinda fun. We can't wait to shave her head and take lots of pictures before she becomes a Cyborg for the second time. (See her site to know how she became on the 1st time_
