This. He hasn't taped in NYC in 2 years. I make the hour drive down from Waterbury to see Jerry Springer tape every once in a while, but I've only bothered to see Maury a few times. If you go to any of the tapings, you end up on their call list, and the Steve Wilkos people call you three times a month begging you to come fill up seats at their taping.

Pfft, Maury these days makers Jerry Springer look like Oprah. Everything on Springer thee days is played for laughs, it's all tongue in cheek, no one is taking it seriously. Maury is just cruel, he parades dysfunctional families, deranged teenagers, and promiscuous mothers on stage and pretends as though he actually cares about their problems. He exploits people for entertainment purposes. With Springer, it's his guests that are exploiting themselves.

The few times I've watched Maury in the last ten years it's always been "He is not the father" baby mama drama. So I had to read TFA to make sure there wasn't any inadvertent pregnancy.

27 year woman with a 58 year old guy is weird but not national TV weird. Early Anna Nicole married the ninety-something oil tycoon. Now an May-December of 2013 relationship like that would actually draw viewers.

February is sweeps rating period. I'm expecting a higher level of trash on those few times I choose to indulge.
