I was wondering if you were inquiring as I've actually known people who were convinced that strokes are ailments that only the elderly suffer. As for her age, not sure. She looks rather young, perhaps her 30s.

Also, I tried googling it but couldn't find this, anyone remember a couple of years back that politician who had had a stroke while on a radio show? For a few hours people were talking about how he was drunk on air, an embarrassment, and even the show host mentioned how he sounded like he was on something. Then right before the end of the program he read the announcement that said politician was rushed to the ER for a massive stroke.

Could have been a TIA. I went through one a little over a year ago. Lost all ability to communicate for a few hours, spent 5 days in this hospital and got a couple thousand of dollars in debt for the answer of "yeah, nothign we can do, you're lucky you didn't go full retard"

I know a girl who was playing HS varsity volley ball and dropped on the court. She had a 99% recovery. Still has problems with words once in a great while.

I suffer from seizures and buddies have told me I've said some wild shiat that I never remember.

They're scary as hell, without a doubt. While you're unconscious you have no feeling for the passing of time. You know when you sleep, you have that sense that time has passed? Nothing like that with a stroke. I'll be talking to someone than what feels like an instant later I'm in the back of an ambulance. Scary stuff.

Sge looks too young to be having a stroke. While the symptoms of having a stroke are commonly known, usually if you're under the age of 50 you should really just have some fluids and then rest. If you feel the same way a few days later then that's the time to contact a doctor.

someonelse: There's a local newscaster here who has a seizure disorder and one of her small on-air seizures looked a lot like that. The tone and inflection remained perfectly appropriate but the words were gibberish, accompanied by the terrified "WTF?" look in the eyes.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was something more like that. I didn't watch this happen in real time and I heard about it this morning on the radio. They followed up with the comment that it was determined she didn't have a stroke but no word as of then what it was.

I didn't see any mention in TFA if they indeed ruled stroke out.

She's an attractive woman and I feel sorry for her.

My sister in law is about 28 now and she started having strokes at 23-24. She has spent so much money on doctors trying to find out what was causing them but it took years to finally diagnose. I can't remember what it was that was causing it now but they make her take tramadol to control it now. She had so many that she had actually driven herself to the doctor after having one a few times. One side of her body would stop working during some strokes but not as bad during others.

Yes, a TIA or stroke. Hopefully the on-scene medics realized that and gave here the proper meds ASAP to dissolve any clots. Looking forward to a positive update.

Same here, 50, second one at 55, died two years later. shiat scares me - that was hard to watch.

My dad was lucky. It was back in 2000. So far so good, knock wood and all that.

Yeah, I had one at around 38-39. I thought I was simply hypoglycemic, so didn't go to the hospital, which totally pissed off the girlfriend. Went the next day. Always interesting, while in triage, you start giving the list of medications that you take, and when you start rattling them off (about 15 or so), the triage nurse gives you this look and asks, "why?" Oh, heart transplant. Yup, you get VIP treatment then.
Kinda freaky to know that your brain is still working, but that it refuses to communicate with the rest of your body. It gets mighty lonesome in there. Of course, being Canuckian, it didn't cost me a penny, as opposed to your thousands.

I'm a bit of a hypochondriac, and seeing stuff like this always scares me, I always think it's gonna happen to me. I wish I had a doctor like House to monitor me 24/7, it would be incredibly helpivul bertacion and very derrison by terri placen pet habipet.
