jayleng: ThePuceGuardian

I hope you know how important being *puced* or *pucified* is to the people on Caturday. It's something we all aspire to...

Thank you so much.

/I had prints of mine when you "puced" Keanu. Picture in my living room and prints sent to friends and family
//thank you

jayleng is right. I love seeing your work every week and the Pucing that you have done on Suzy is printed out, framed and hanging up in my bedroom.

Plus my coworkers are jealous, I have those pics as my wallpaper on my computer.

Thank you!

About 10 minutes into the call, some asshole in a jacked-up F250 4x4 decided he didn't need to obey the laws of physics - specifically the one about two bodies not being able to inhabit the same space. What was heard on the call: "You gotdamned cawksarking idiot! I hope your mom gives you VD for your birthday!"

LOL! I can see it now:

That post might cost you a couple of keyboards! I can't stop laughing.

Unfortunately my foster (see pic above) lost her kittens today. I'm still hopeful we can save her. We typically take in the really sick ones and this is our first loss. Sometimes fostering is really rough :'-(.

Condolences to AnyName on the loss of his current foster's kittens. domari said not too long ago that at least half the mewbies are lucky to survive their first year. I'll back up & look again for the foto, which I don't recall & didn't see on last search.
She, domari, also said fostering can be rough, especially when there are losses. If this was your first loss, you've been lucky so far ... heartfelt wishes for your up-to-now good luck to resume & continue.

While this isn't feline, or canine either, I couldn't resist right-clicking on this & the other one somewhat similar, when they came in on a "More People at WalMart" foto string. There were perhaps as many as 5 others saved as Christmas at WalMart. The rest beyond those directly mentioned were flat dreadful. Going by size, I think it's a wallaby, which some folk do keep as pets. You'll need to wait for the other pic.

I've always been a typical Jersey driver, one finger out the window and swearing at everyone. When my youngest son was little he told my hubby "mommy sure does curse a lot in the car".

Many years ago when CB radios were popular, I had one in the car. I also had a loudspeaker under the hood near the grill. I figured if I was going to swear at idiot drivers, they might as well hear what I had to say.

Those two paragraphs, right there, are why I am not allowed to ever have a CB in any car I drive ever again and why I am forbidden to even look at a car with a sunroof in it.

I'm so sorry to hear about the kittens. Yes, it's very rough but some things are just out of our control. We can only do so much.

I was just talking to someone else about this today. Almost all the cats we take in have come from less than perfect situations. We've taken in starved and abandoned momma cats. Without proper nutrition, it's not easy to develop healthy kittens. Kittens are born and fade away without knowing why. We just lost one that was born with a cleft palate, nothing at all could be done.

Good luck with the cat, I hope she gets well soon. Send me an email if you'd like EIP.

AnyName: toonieroonie: Another question: What is everybody's favorite brand/type of cat treats? I went to Menards for some supplies for my metalsmithing class, and found these

My wife was buying some high end healthy cat treats for almost $4 for a 4oz bag. I mentioned that boneless chicken thighs typically are on sale for around $1.50/lb and the cats would probably like that better. I tried itand they did. I now just buy a bunch on sale, bag/freeze them in little zip lock bags and grill them a few at a time as cat treats. Only two of them like the treats/chicken. The others seem happy with kibble and ignore anything else I try to give them.

They also love steak.

If you have a food dehydrator you can dry the chicken or steak. Make your own little jerky treats for them.

Awwww! I has a really big sad. I know you both do the best you can and I applaud you for that. My wife wants to foster cats but I'm not quite ready. I tend to become too attached and emotional. I know it's selfish of me because the kittys really need the help. I am coming around though....soon.

I had a similar situation happen to me when I was living in California. My college was 37 miles away and so I commuted, but luckily (????) classes started at 7 so I missed the rush-hour traffic most of the time. Well, one morning some a-hole decided he wanted past me in bumper to bumper traffic. He kept flashing his lights at me, but there was no where for me to go. The cars beside me wouldn't move a smidgen for me to get over. He lost patience and zoomed over 3 lanes to get around me by going to the slow lane, which was moving faster than we were. I looked over and mumbled to my self "what an a**hole". Who knew that he could lip-read? He jammed over to my lane, I swear he had no more than an inch or two clearance between cars, clipped the front of my car by the headlight and took off. For the rest of my years in LA traffic I practiced ventriloquism for my swearing at other drivers.

What the one cat doesn't bury, the dog eats. Maybe you should also get a dog.

It's ok to get attached and emotional. It's a long letting go process.
I know we can't keep them all, if we did, we wouldn't have room to take in more. Many of the people who adopt from us, keep in touch, so we get to see the kittens as they grow. That makes it easier to let them go. We also see the joy in the faces of the people who adopt... a lonely woman living alone who's face just lit up when we handed her the kitten... a little girl with the biggest smile I've ever seen when she saw her new cat.... that makes it all worth it.

As Dr Seuss says.... "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened."
