picodenico: downstairs: Of course, this is a city that gave kids the day off school for the Monday Night Football game against the Patriots.

Wow....haha

The tailgating was so insane you'd be a fool to try to get around town in a car, much less a school bus. Maybe some schools were half days or whatever... but last year the entire city shut down during any Saints game. People didn't even commit crimes. Waited until the game was over to do that.

Not too bad, thinking about what food to make (got very limited options, unfortunately). And being really hungry isn't helping things...

Joe and Troy, it's like watching Opie and Andy. Andy has to correct Opie alot, cuz Opie is a goof, and Andy has skins on his wall. Poor Opie.

Sounds very similar to Packers games in Wisconsin. I'm guessing that during the game, if you watched the traffic cams from here there would be very little to watch.

Yep. Green Bay had all the records for percentage of TV sets tuned to specific Packers games until New Orleans broke it for that one Monday Night game I was talking about. Something crazy like 80% or more.

Before this thread hits the main page, here are the highlights of the "Superbowl Side Bet" thread from earlier in the week for those looking for something to bet on:

- Bet on the color of the Gatorade dumped on the winning coach.

- Over/under on how many times FOX shows Jerry Jones on TV during the game.

- Over/under on how many times they mention Brett Favre, or Tim Tebow, or "lockout".

- In which quarter the MasterLock ad airs.

- how many bratwurts vince_jr eats ... the over/under is 5

- I got 50 on Poppa Boner making a sexual comment.

- Will the streaker make it to the star?

- Will a field goal hit one of the uprights?

- Will either backup quarterback play more than 10 snaps?

- Over/Under 0.5 players tackled by their hair?

- How many times Buck or Aikman will say "wonder."

- That a new Budweiser commercial would involve an alien of some sort.

- I will bet Bradshaw will say something completely moronic before kick off.

- 45$ John Kuhn gets more than 5.5 yards.

- 20$ that Heath Miller has more than 38.5 yards receiving.

- 5$ That Christina Aguilera holds brave for more than 6 seconds.

- 5$ that the national Anthem lasts more than 1:54

- 5$ Jerry Jones is shown 3 or more times on Live TV during the game.

- Which team will win the coin toss?

- Which team will be the first to gain possession of the ball due to a fumble or interception?

- The third flagged penalty of the game will be committed by which team?

- Which team will be the first one to have a player individually circled, drawn on, or otherwise highlighted on the Telestrator during a replay?

- The first points scored in the game will be: a) touchdown/safety or b) field goal?

- The seventh play from scrimmage in the second half (kicking plays excluded) will be: a) run or b) pass.

- Will both teams exhaust their time outs in the second half? a) yes, b) no

- Will any commercial shown during the game feature a live chimpanzee, gorilla, orangutan, or other simian species?

- Will any commercial shown during the game feature a talking non-human animal (live action or animated)?

- Variable point questions (1 point for correct No answer, indicated points for correct Yes answer)

- Will an instant replay result in a reversal of a call? (2 points for yes)

- Will an on-sides kick be attempted by either team? (3 points for yes)

- Will the singing of the National Anthem take more than 100 seconds? (2 points for yes)

- Will the first penalty flag be for something other than holding or a false start? (2 points for yes)

- Will a non-Anheuser Busch (Budweiser) commercial top USA Today's Ad Meter rankings for the game? (3 points for yes)

- Will either team's backup quarterback take one or more snaps? (3 points for yes)

- Will the ball be live and a play in progress when the clock shows exactly 6:15 remaining in the third quarter? (3 points for yes)

- Will the game's MVP award go to a non-quarterback? (2 points for yes)

- Will any single play result in offsetting penalties? (4 points for yes)

- Will a injured player be shown being taken to the locker room on one of those little golf cart things? (4 points for yes)

- Will an official be significantly injured - i.e. enough to temporarily stop play - because of collision with a player? (5 points for yes)

- I have 20 riding on Harrison being fined $30000+ for a hit.

- How many times the refs screw up a call in the Steelers favor.(my guess 20 )

- How many times Rothlesburger's suspension and horrid offseason are mentioned.(my guess 0)

- How many times it is said the Steelers have to be considered the greatest team of all time.(my guess 15)

- Packers score in the first 5 minutes.

- Steelers use an onside kick to turn the tables in the last quarter.

- 250 to 1, Troy Polamalu gets an interception and gets tackled by his hair on the same play.
