RedEmily: Okay, all kidding aside. What are the top 3 things most important to you in a relationship?

I'm going to take this rare opportunity to not be a snarky jerk and actually answer the question.

1) Sex - it's a must. If the physical chemistry is off, the relationship will die.

2) Laughs - pretty self explanatory.

3) Silence - you have to know what subjects we're interested in hearing about. We don't care if your BFF is having problems with the guy she's dating. We don't care about every little detail of your day, or the coworker you don't like.

And if you come to us with an easily-solvable problem, we're going to offer the solution, not sympathy. I hate that.

The not talking is something I'm always suprised at. Don't you need to talk about serious thing to work them out? Don't you need to talk about just about everything so you know how that person is feeling and what may be bothering them?

Isn't just good to talk and continue to build that intimacy that couples have?

I do agree with the sex and laughs.

RedEmily: Okay, all kidding aside. What are the top 3 things most important to you in a relationship?

Dont try to control me.
Dont biatch at or to me.
Don't endlessly tell me about things I'm not interested in.

An appreciation for the above 3 qualities in me seals the deal.

RedEmily: Okay, all kidding aside. What are the top 3 things most important to you in a relationship?

Think of the top three things important to you in a best friend, except put sexual chemistry at the top and move everything else down a notch. Basically, sharing some interests, a sense of humor, a sense of adventure, and just being interesting and easy to talk to.

Also, I don't necessarily think Yanks is right about #3. I really do care about whatever little problems or stuff you want to talk about, I think a lot of guys do. We may still, in fact, try to offer solutions, but only because we want to help/fix problems. It's what we do.

Trust, intelligence, and a vaguely comparable sex drive.

I'm fairly sure he's alluding to "little" details as opposed to serious issues - men want ladies who knows how to pick and choose comments that are entertaining/relevant/interesting. Which, combined with the other two, make what I'm fairly sure everyone wants in their significant other...everyone who's sane, anyway.

Worthwhile guys like talking, they just don't want to listen to stupid shiat. Makes sense.

Wow. Those are your three most important qualities in a relationship? "Leave me alone" and "don't talk to me"?
If you don't like interacting with them except for getting a beej, you could always just buy a fleshlight and live on your own.

RedEmily: Okay, all kidding aside. What are the top 3 things most important to you in a relationship?

1- trust. if this isn't there nothing else matters.
2 - sex. if this isn't good the guy won't stick around long, or if he does, will be absolutely miserable. (that goes both ways, women like sex just as much but have different reasons to HAVE sex)
3 - companionship. it's nice to come home and have someone to talk to other than the dog.

everything else is just gravy.

of course you need to talk about problems, but most men really don't want to hear about the minutia of your day. it comes off as inane to guys and we just kind of tune it out and nod, because we actually wish you would just shut the fark up and watch TV with us. to paraphrase Uma in Pulp Fiction: "Why do people feel the need to fill every second with stupid chatter? Women want to talk about EVERYTHING, men want to talk about actual problems, when you might feel like having sex, what's for dinner, and that is usually about it.

That's what her other friends are for. If I'm with someone, I care about their day, and their feelings and other matters pertinent to us as a couple, but I don't care who Sally from accounting is supposedly banging, or that Jenny in marketing is sleeping around with everything with a dick. (well ok, may care about that one)

Even if you are, no matter.

My point is that conversation/laughs ARE important, but recognizing what's really interesting is as well. We're not a sounding board for EVERY LITTLE THING that going on in her world. Frankly I don't know why you'd think we would care about the relationship drama of people we don't really know. I'm assuming she has other friends who would probably be much more interested than I am. That's where to go with that stuff.

And if you bring it to us, expect the simplest possible solution to be expressed without a shred of "give a shiat". That's how I'm wired. I can't pretend to care about issues that have literally no impact on my life.

this is, in my experience with my own feelings, friends, my parents (including their re-marriages) absolutely NOT true. We don't care. We may ACT like we care and SAY we care because we want sex later, but trust me, we DON'T care about most of what you want to talk about. Generally, unless it is actually deemed as 'IMPORTANT' in our man-brains, we just smile and nod while you chatter on.

/I'm not supposed to be telling you women this. It is supposed to be a secret.

Interestingly, a number of other A-listers who are pregnant, Natalie Portman, Penelope Cruz and Marion Cotillard, made the cut.

I'm willing to bet the direction of causality runs the other direction: They're pregnant because people want to f*ck them.

you don't have to save it. you can tell us. just don't expect much in response, don't expect us to retain the information, and could you wait until Pawn Stars is over? I can't hear what Rick is telling this jackwagon about a fake Rembrandt he is trying to sell.
