Jambart's attorney said his client attempted suicide three times after he lost his family's savings to Internet gambling and stole money for his habit.

Lawsuit hmmm? I smell vulturior motives.

This is just more evidence that gayness is a choice. Thanks, Fox News. You're doing a valuable service.

READ THE FARKING ARTICLE:

Among other label warnings, the National Institutes of Health lists these precautions for the drug Requip, which is also used to treat restless legs syndrome:

• Tell your doctor if you have ever had an urge to gamble that was difficult to control and if you have or have ever had unexpected daytime sleepiness or a sleep disorder other than restless legs syndrome; high or low blood pressure; a psychotic disorder (mental illness that causes abnormal thinking or perceptions); or heart, liver, or kidney disease

• You should know that some people who took medications such as ropinirole developed gambling problems or other intense urges or behaviors that were compulsive or unusual for them, such as increased sexual urges or behaviors. There is not enough information to tell whether the people developed these problems because they took the medication or for other reasons. Call your doctor if you have an urge to gamble that is difficult to control, you have intense urges, or you are unable to control your behavior.

Jambart's attorney said these warnings only appeared on the drug's label in 2006, after his client stopped taking the medicine.
Glaxo would not comment to the AFP on the case.

His case seems legit as fark to me.

Back him up against what, precisely?

(go on...)

(From farking Wiki...)

Side effects

Ropinirole can cause nausea, dizziness, hallucinations, orthostatic hypotension, and sudden sleep attacks during the daytime. Rarer and more unusual side effects specific to D3-preferring agonists such as ropinirole and pramipexole can include hypersexuality and compulsive gambling, even in patients without a prior history of these behaviours.[6]

So it's documented.
He doesn't have a case.
Sucks to be him.. Or.. Well.. You know.

Please, this is Fark. Lawsuits are never, ever legit. Everyone who files a lawsuit is a money-grubbing pussy, as diagnosed by the legions of Fark ITGs.

I was on a drug that did something similar. I went from not gambling at all to going to the casino every day and sometimes several times a day. Lost thousands of dollars. Started withdrawing from my 401k. Ate a pound of M&Ms every day. Started drinking regularly. Told myself every day that I was going to stop the behavior but couldn't. Stopped taking the drug and within 4 weeks everything had returned to normal. Haven't even had the desire to do those things again.

So yeah, it happens.

As farked up as this sounds, there may be a precedent. I am not trying to say that this drug made the man gay, but medications for Parkinson's Disease have been shown to occasionally have adverse reactions on compulsive behavior due to their close correlation with dopamine. As Parkinson's is the result of insufficient dopamine in the brain, many treatments (including ReQuip) involve boosting the levels of this chemical. Dopamine, in addition to being tied to the motor receptors (which is why individuals with Parkinson's have difficulty controlling movement) it is also closely tied to the brain's pleasure centers. May I suggest the Radiolab episode "Stochasticity" which has a fascinating story about a woman who became a compulsive gambler after her own treatments.

So maybe it intensifies what is already within your persona. Something tells me that this guys ass had been used as a pincushion prior to this medication.

So... Wait. Hold on a second. Being happy makes you more gay. Am I reading this right? So being too gay(1) makes you too gay(2).

So this guy with Parkinson's is blaming the drug? Hell, playing nonstop craps and dishing out awesome hand jobs seems perfectly normal.
