Well today I learned something... it is "Sarsaparilla" that the stranger ordered in the Big Lebowski (not "sasparilla") and that "sarsparilla" is a different plant altogether.

'Course I can't say I've seen London, and I ain't never been to France. And I ain't never seen no queen in her damned undies, so the feller says. But I'll tell you what - after seeing Richardson, Texas, and this here story I'm about to unfold, well, I guess I seen somethin' every bit as stupefyin' as you'd see in any of them other places. And in sign language, too.

It's spelled "sarsaparilla," and it's most commonly pronounced "sasparilla." There is no such thing as "sarsparilla."

Since it's Gasparilla this weekend in Tampa, I half way expected to read about how SARS is going to ruing the festival of pirates, beers, and boobs. I was gladly mistaken.

Well, perhaps, as your spelling is appropriate for, say "Sioux City Sarsaparilla" but sarsparilla is also listed here. (new window)

I wasn't confused until I looked it up. I'll stick with sarsaparilla, should it ever come up again. Who the hell decided to spell "sasparilla" as "sarsaparilla" or vice versa?

PS3. Just bought it a couple weeks ago, am up to about 40-50 hours gameplay. 2 freezes. Would think that by this point, I'd have the correct spelling of 'sarsaparilla' burnt into my skull. Along with that 'Big Iron' song.

Will be my first experience with Gasparilla. Just moved to Tampa in August. Going to watch the invasion from my balcony then head down to the streets. Any other Farkers going to be around?

I just watched the video and two things popped into my head:

1) She's good. Spelled most of those words without even looking.
2) Is it the girl or the cameraman that has the Cerebral Palsy?

The 360 version freezes somewhat frequently (especially if you have one of the Mysterious Stranger perks) and has a number of mild-to-moderate display and AI bugs.

Get it anyway, and save often: it's really fun.

Make the interpreter stand outside while the word is read. Then do the entire spelling bee over.

I'll add a 'get it any ways' regardless of platform. My experience with it on the PC has been flawless except for situations that I knew full well were going to be troublesome. (sketchy mods or *really* pushing the draw distance values)

I have it for PC. A few bugs here and there, and it crashes about once every 10 hours of gameplay. Totally worth it, though. Amazing game. Just save often.

That's just terrible! Making her go up to the microphone to spell something, then making her sit back down, only to bring her back up there 1 second later to spell again! I don't know how she puts up with their shiat.
