i can't see any reason why farrell would attempt to make that a permanent gig. he's still got box office appeal and could probably hand-pick a successful pilot on his own without having to compete with the ghost of steve carell next season on the office.

What do you mean 'if'?

He will be fine on The Office. He will not be playing Will Ferrell or any of those kinds of characters he is famous for. He will be playing a character that fits in with the style of characters that are on that show.

It may be the most understated Ferrell has ever been except in "Stranger Than Fiction."

No way he takes a permanent role there though.

$1000 says that Packer is back in at least one of those episodes.

2011-01-27 03:45:24 PM
He'll be playing another surprise that Todd Packer left in Michael's office.

/It was a hate crime.
//... well I hated it!!

2011-01-27 03:48:08 PM
Did I see it coming? No.
Am I surprised? No.

/This could be pretty good.

I still think it would be awesome to see Darryl become branch manager. He and Dwight would crack me up. But I don't know that Craig Robinson has the star power to headline the show. Not that there may be much show left after Carell leaves, that is.

Frank the Tank as regional manager... I like it

It would be a trip if Kelly takes over. Remember she is in Sabre's Print in All Colors minority executive training program.

Truth. Being she's as brainless as Michael, it would create some funny scenes.

I know, weird.

He's only doing one episode after Michael leaves to keep the continuity of the story. So no worries of him making this a permanent job.

I was wondering when "it is physically impossible to just dislike something without having some ulterior motive" guy was going to show up.

Should I have stated it was an opinion? Is that really necessary? I didn't say it was fact. It is what I believe will happen, and most people would agree.

Ferrell is a box office draw. I doubt he will be giving that up to do a weekly TV show. It's rare. If I'm wrong, then bully for you.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, I didn't intend to ruffle your feathers. Easy, killer. I just wondered if you had seen the episodes from the way you said "He will, he will, he will...", as if you were calling it based on having seen some advance screening or something.

Sheesh, sorry.

I stopped watching that show as of the current season. The shtick just got old. Should've killed it off before that horrid wedding episode.

But this MIGHT bring me back.

Ricky Gervais is pure class. I don't know why you Yanks try to copy us. All you end up with is trash. First the office and now top gear.
