Makes me wonder how hammered he was before then. By the time they got him to the hospital his blood alcohol would've dropped a bit, and also who knows how long it was since his last drink.

Record? Horeshiat. My mom was .61 (and in a coma...) hours after they pulled her out of her car. That was 15 years ago.

2011-01-20 08:04:41 PM
Yeah, I don't think this is a record, even for DUI. It's not that high for a good drunk.

Truly impressive. I've been skeptical of some other "high scores" because of the unreliability of the Breathalyzer.

I know people in Wisconsin can get higher and i believe after Sunday we will all be drunk as hell cheering the Packers on.

So if Kint/Soze made up the entire story depicted in the movie based on what he saw in the room..THEN WHAT REALLY HAPPENED?? I'm sure it would make a great movie.

"If you drink and drive you're going to be caught," said Skokie police officer Tammy Jacobson.

Catchy slogan, but not even remotely true.

This paper details a woman who survived a 1.50. I don't think it states if she was driving, thus wouldn't count as a record for DUI/DWI, but 0.72 is certainly not as drunk as you can get.

Or if you're not picky about it being a US American, a South African man was arrested for DUI after registering a 1.60. More impressively, the car he was driving was also shared by a woman, five boys and fifteen sheep.

Pretty drunk tho- so props for that you tank living, lookin' at real time, dope.

When I was stationed in Korea I'm pretty sure my BAC hovered right around ∞. The whole year.

...not that I can really remember...

2011-01-20 08:54:02 PM
I've personally destroyed that record. 0.4 is drunk but not so drunk I black out. The day I bought a breathalyzer my friends and I ran it up as high as we could (it's a nice one, but only goes up to 0.4). I walked home at about 3 am (NYC, no driving needed), didn't get lost, didn't get sick, probably was a bit stumble-y. I blew a 0.38 the following afternoon, no additional drinking needed. So if your BAC falls at a rate of .01 per hour I was probably at least 0.5 before I stopped drinking, and I wouldn't say I was especially drunk that night.

/My experiments with my breathalyzer suggest 0.4 is somewhere between 400ml- 750ml of 40% spirits for me (less then a bottle, in other words). Varies considerably by physical activity, weight, fat vs muscle, and speed at which consumed.

//Yeah I like to drink a bit.

///Don't worry, I never drink and drive.

I got pulled over once in FL. They did an old fashioned sobriety test, which I passed. They let me go, but they did do a breathalyzer. It came up 0.1 which was exactly what I expected. I figured I was going to jail, but evidently in FL a breathalyzer is not by itself enough to convict you, you have to fail the "walk the line" test too. 0.1 was 5 beers drank slowly over about 3-4 hours with about a 1 hour wait while we waited for a guy trained in doing the sobriety test to arrive. I didn't even feel buzzed.

Watch yourselves when it comes to cars and booze, unless you are a child, 0.08 is nothing. If you get drunk assume you are legally drunk for at least a day after, because if you get pulled over you are.

This. Spent 6 months in physical therapy because of a 3rd offender DUI. He was still driving due to BS like that.

It's complete asshattery to drink and drive in the first place, bragging about it is the icing on the douchebag cake.

Sorry...no jail time for me. That stinks though. Oh whoever told me to stay classy...think about it, if i was that drunk, do you really think I could drive? I proved that breathalizers are not accurate and forced the police to blood test me.
