She needs to stop looking at the damn camera. Its quite obvious that her rhetoric's sole purpose is to put her in the spotlight, and not to solve actual problems. But I suppose we all knew this already

2011-01-20 06:17:59 PM
Why hasn't anybody charged her with sedition yet?

2011-01-20 06:19:15 PM

HotWingConspiracy: You guys leave her alone, she's creating jobs with this speech. Plus she is just a precious little thing.

That's the part I don't get.

Christine O'Donnell, eh, maybe.

Sarah Palin... well, legs & tits appear okay for a woman her age. Definitely nearing her sell-by date anyway. If I didn't know who she was and saw her in a bar at closing time, it's possible to

But Bachmann? Really? Some of you guys have some severely lowered standards. I see 15 women more farkable than her every time I walk in the grocery store.

2011-01-20 06:19:32 PM
Repeal? Inigo Montoya would like a word.

2011-01-20 06:21:26 PM

Coelacanth: Why hasn't anybody charged her with sedition yet?

Because everyone fell asleep from 2000-2008 when sedition was disagreeing with Bush and very serious. They think it means patriotism.

Or the simple answer: It's Okay If Your Party is Doing it.

2011-01-20 06:21:39 PM

Philip Francis Queeg: So what the people have to say doesn't matter to her in the slightest, she's going to ignore them and do what she wants.

Is this the first time you have ever heard of her? Because she has been saying the stuff for years and the people are eating it up and she wins big. Go figure.

2011-01-20 06:21:49 PM

God's Hubris: Good for her. It's about time the Senate listen to the people. Ever since they stole the election from the republicans, I've been waiting for someone with the fortitude to do what real Americans truly want.

Subtle.

2011-01-20 06:22:45 PM
It's quite clear that she was speaking metaphorically of elected Republicans in their stead. That article, like this greenlight, is a pretty big sign of desperation. It illustrates the sad state of Fark politics, which like TPM is pretty much a self congradulatory circle jerk for left wingers.

2011-01-20 06:22:52 PM
She's on a roll and no longer beating around the bush.

2011-01-20 06:23:04 PM
Democrats should be pouring money into Bachman's campaign coffers. She and Pailin alone have pretty much kept Obama's approval numbers above 45% despite almost 10% unemployment.

You have to stop considering the girls in the beer posters. They don't count.

She won with 12% in a gerrymandered district. Winning big it ain't.

2wolves: thamike: SkinnyHead: I said the last election, not 2008. National exit polls from the 2010 congressional election show that the college graduate vote went republican 53-45.

Which GED is this one covered by? There were no national exit polls for 2010, because there was no national election in 2010.

Dude, you're using facts to confront a moran. Won't work, you need magic, the ghost of St. Ronnie, and The Lost Ethics of Newt Gingrich.

They did compile national exit polls for the US house races in 2010. His facts are wrong. That makes you wrong too.

Otherwise known to Obama as "The Base"...

What a shocker, Tyee is full of shiat when he said Minnesota's 6th District used to be a Democrat strong hold. It's only belonged to the DFL (Democrats) 6 times in the history of it's district and it's CPVI swings towards the Republicans with a +7.

grotto_man: That article, like this greenlight, is a pretty big sign of desperation.

Yeah, what does repealing the president have to do with the size of potatoes?

i see what you did there from around the corner.

Republicans won the college graduate vote 53-45.

While that's false, they did win 100% of Internet dentists and lawyers.

Tyee:

She almost lost to a guy named Elwyn Tinklenberg. If you nearly lose to a guy whose name is a sign that says "ISSUE WEDGIES HERE" you're overly vulnerable

2011-01-20 06:27:12 PM

hubiestubert: By repeal the President she is obviously speaking metaphorically. I will give her that.

The sad thing is, that she thinks that the President and Senate are going to listen to what a thin majority of House members are metaphorin' on...

Amazing how often you get to use that image, innit? She is truly the gift that keeps on giving.

2011-01-20 06:27:31 PM
Oops, forgot to include a link in my last post proving what I said to be true.

So yes, it looks like her district is full of morons, especially since it's gerrymandered to stay the hell away from Minneapolis or St. Paul.

Maybe she should try burning down the Reichstag Capitol.

Lowered? I abandoned the notion of "standards" when I realized I'm ugly. I've planted my flag in far worse than Bachmann, and had a great time doing it.

It's a good thing Republicans are working on the real issues, like cutting funding for the arts and sciences.

I want to repeal Minnesota's 6th district. They are the ones at fault for re-electing this crazy woman.

Mrtraveler01: What a shocker, Tyee is full of shiat when he said Minnesota's 6th District used to be a Democrat strong hold.

To be fair, out of the last 10 elections in the 6th dist. 5 went democrat and 5 went republican. What I meant was MN used to be a democrat stronghold, after the last election I'm wouldn't be to sure. the state house and senate switched from both having a democrat majority to a republican majority, and that is remarkable.
I'm getting a beer, you want one?

Imagine....just imagine, for a moment, what the reaction of the youknowho's if President Obama dared come out publicly and say:

"I will repeal the Senate" ?

2011-01-20 07:00:56 PM

Tyee: To be fair, out of the last 10 elections in the 6th dist. 5 went democrat and 5 went republican.

Sorry that is incorrect. Since 1/3/81 to present 30years the Democrats have held that seat for 18 years and the republicans 12.

mantabulous: SphericalTime: Can you provide a cite for that then? I can't find your source.

It seems like, since there were no nation-wide races, CNN doesn't have a national breakdown of the statistics, only state-by-state numbers.

CBS has them, but only for the House race. (new window) Pretty statistically insignificant, but I'll let him have his moment of smug superiority. Guess the Republicans are the "academic elites" that we all hate so much now, huh?

What's funny, though, is that the only place I can find that "53-45" number is for postgrads, and the 53 is for Democrats.

So even when SkinnyHead is right, he's wrong.

I think it would be a funny trick to spread a rumor saying Obama was going to repeal the Senate. Then once the right wing fury had been unleashed, clue them in to the fact that Bachmann was the one who said it. Heads would explode.
