Louie Gohmert: a walking endorsement for abortion.

I can't get over how farking scared and persecuted some people behave. It's sick! There's absolutely no reason to be such a pissy-pants sissy at all times. You hear me, American Right? Buck up, you goddamned pansies.

2011-01-20 08:23:20 AM
Seriously, WTF is wrong with these assholes? Does any sane person honestly think that congress needs to investigate the imaginary threat of Sharia law?

How many jobs will this create?

Look on the bright side: Two years of this kind of crap in the House will be a nice reminder of why we should never put Republicans in charge of any branch of government ever again.

2011-01-20 08:26:15 AM
The incoming muslim-o-fying seems to me to be the stupidest claim made by the brothers in derp. There is literally no threat of this ever happening. Ever. We're more likely to actually become a nation of Communazis than to ever become a nation of Muslims. As ridiculous and deserving of mockery all their claims are, this one literally baffled me with its extreme non-logic. Then I realized the ONLY reason to ever tell the base that the Muslims are coming for their children is to propagate the idea that Obama's a secret Muslim. Every one of these shiat-wallowers should be mocked out of office. But they aren't.

Because this is America. The land where evidence and science are just opinions amongst other opinions.

2011-01-20 08:26:30 AM
We're a big, strong nation, and that's why we must be constantly vigilant for threats we made up so that we can appeal to xenophobia and bigotry.

2011-01-20 08:26:30 AM
Then can we get a congressional hearing on shadows and how they are scary?

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know My name is the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon thee.

Is being a delusional jackass a requirement for entry into the GOP these days?

I find it hard to believe that no Republicans have a problem with this type of nonsense...

Right, because that was what I heard after 8 years of Dubya, and the voters returned to the Republicans not 2 years later like a battered wife on "Cops." Methinks you're giving the retarded electorate far too much credit.

This issue came up here in Canada, too. (Link (new window)) The notion of people using Sharia law to decide cases didn't go down too well, and the laws in this province were rapidly changed to exclude the possibility. Quickly and effectively, without a lot of political grandstanding or investigations.

If there were any honesty, the hearing would be over in seconds.

First question: "Is there Sharia in this country?"
Response: "No."
Questioner: "Okay then. Thanks for your time. Hearing over."

Is Gohmert in Parliament? Unless you have some examples domestically, it's ridiculous to bring up in this context. Lots of things happen in other countries, but that doesn't necessarily make them a threat here. Maybe we should concentrate on actual threats instead of those that exist purely in imagination at this point.

He doesn't actually have examples from England. The Archbishop of Canterbury suggest accommodating Sharia law where possible and they allow Sharia judges handle divorces and financial disputes when the people involved are adherents.

Here in the US, judges will honor the conditions of Sharia law on contractual issues as long as there is no conflict with our laws. That is no different than any other contractual conditions.

It looks like the thing that has the right up in arms is that the Muslims have dared to build houses of worship on US land. Also, when good Christian warriors harass the heathens, the Christians get busted for disorderly conduct. OMG, the judges are Muslim!

I honestly don't know how the Talking Heads and Politicians get away with it. I'm sitting in an Office in Central London right now and as far as I can tell there are no women being stoned in the streets and I don't have to Pray to Mecca 5 Times a day. In fact the only people getting stoned are the people hanging out around Soho Square

Because the first step to education is accepting you know nothing? This is a particularly hard step, and most people are offended by having to come to terms with it.
