Aluminum is like gold in some states such as Michigan and California where it pays to recycle it. It's possible that they were planning to sell it to a scrapyard in one of those states.

As far as the fastest land animal goes, I'm sure that it's all relative. The slowest three toed sloth wouldn't even acknowledge the existance of the fastest cheetah, or peregrine facoln, so therefore the question either doesn't matter, or is inherently invalid.

Easy. First, sell it to some British people. Now it's aluminium, and you've got a net profit of tens of thousands of pounds of i's. Each one of those, of course, is the square root of negative one, so be sure you end up with a number that's divisible by 4, lest your profit be imaginary or negative.
