Just think:

Someone spent time and energy writing that, creating the website, and is paying for bandwidth.

I don't know I got a small chuckle out of the idea of an Oracle makefile becoming self aware. It would end up having the wit of a autist with dow syndrome.

I thought it was funny. Especially the part about using it to compile Gnome on Solaris.

I guess it's only somewhat funny if you have spent hours trying to compile Gnome and XFree

&ltnerd>

lololol everyone knows a Unix C makefile can't aid in compiling the DBD-Oracle Perl module on HPUX gained total self-awareness!!

And what's even more astounding is that this so called "makefile" was put to, and succeeded in passing the Turing Test!! I mean, that in itself is just ludicrous!! LOLOLOLL ROFFOLOLOLLOLOLOL

When the other geeks decided what other systems they could have the "sentient" file work on, I just about peed my pants!! And I wasn't even sleeping!! "Xmms for my old 486!" "Eggdrop 1.06p!" "xfree86 4.0.2!" LOL Now *that* is comedy, chums! The Klingon symbol of respect for the lot of you! Now back to my AD&D modelmaking-- I've almost completed the whole of Tolkiens' creation!

"#> echo I am pleased to have joined the Earth as the second sentient race." LOL I will have to share that with my Instant Messenger friends, Smarterchild, and GooglyMinotaur! I am sure they will also "get a kick" out of that jester!

it was mentioned today on slashdot that there would be no GNOME 2.0 for Solaris 9 (http://slashdot.org/articles/01/10/16/0014244.shtml). that is, until this Makefile figures it out.

2001-10-16 10:50:34 PM
correction, it would not ship with Gnome 2.0.

2001-10-16 11:14:42 PM
chmod +777 Makefile
kill -9 Makefile

Say "hello" now, you little prick.
